Those Assassin's Creed Valhalla players who select Grantebridgescire during the Alliance Map quest begin this arc with the task of completing The Great Scattered Army. This will take players to a new region in England and introduce characters that will play a role throughout Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Fortunately, being an early mission in the game, the challenges here aren't meant to be overwhelming. The difficulty, however, is heavily dependent on what level players have chosen for their Assassin's Creed Valhalla playthrough. Where to Start The Great Scattered Army?
In the region of England just south of Ravensthorpe, known as Grantebridgescire, players need to travel to the viewpoint location southwest of their settlement. This viewpoint is the tallest structure in the crumbling castle known as Duroliponte, and players need to work their way up until they encounter the remnants of the army Eivor is looking for. Near the top will be the character that players need to interact with in order to continue.
This cutscene will point Eivor towards the swamp area along the river directly to the northeast. Players can either sail their longship, take one of the smaller watercraft by the shore, or just run across the land to get to this new area. Once players arrive in the swamps, they will want to conceal themselves in the tall grass and activate their Odin's Sight in order to keep track of the numerous enemies roaming around.
There are a handful of captured soldiers here that can be freed but doing so will attract the attention of enemies, and players will want to deal with them first. There are roaming bands of these enemies that search through the tall grass, but, fortunately, the use of the game's bows should make quick work of them. Assassin's Creed Valhalla's stealth mechanics make this an easily manageable task.
Where to Find Soma in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?
With the enemies cleared from this area, players can then draw on Odin's Sight to track down the rest of the army. Unfortunately for the character players are trying to track down, Soma, the bodies of their army point out the way to go. Odin's Sight will highlight this path of bodies, and as long as players follow it, they will reach Soma.
She is located up a well-worn path in the remains of a village (near Middeltun), and getting close enough to this character will activate her introductory cutscene. With this done, players can move on to the next mission in this Grantebridgescire arc, home to one of the more difficult decisions in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
