Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Ostara Festival has become a fan-favorite when it comes to timed events, and a large reason is the hunt for several Baskets of Eggs. More specifically, players that want to complete the included Egg Hunt quest, and collect the associated rewards, will need to find 15 Baskets of Eggs, and some of them can prove to be a bit elusive. For those players that may be having some trouble tracking down all of the Easter Eggs in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, this guide is here to offer assistance.

Before getting into the locations of all of the Egg Baskets, it is worth mentioning that they are revealed by using Odin's Sight in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Players that only reference the text descriptions that are found below are thus advised to activate the ability frequently, as it will allow them to quickly zero in on these collectibles. That should not be necessary for those fans that watch the video, though, since it clearly shows the precise locations of all of the Easter Eggs.

Updated on January 6, 2023, by Stephen LaGioia: Much time has passed since the 2022 Ostara Festival in AC Valhalla, but all indications point to this joyous, colorful celebration coming back with the arrival of Spring 2023. This should entice many fans to revisit England, Norway, Francia, and the other vast lands of AC Valhalla once again.

Much like this fun festival — DLC like the action-packed Siege of Paris and expansive Last Chapter, (which concludes Eivor's quest and segues to the upcoming Mirage), keeps gamers coming back. These added campaigns and events should satiate players as they await Mirage — as well as the more distant Codename Red (taking place in Feudal Japan), the multiplayer-centric Invictus, and other expanded content.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Ostara Festival Overview

Assassin's Creed valhalla Ostara Festival

Based on the Norse tradition of celebrating the spring Equinox, the Ostara was a tradition of festivities, which rung in the coming of spring and the fertility of the land. It's a celebration of "rebirth," in essence, wrought with colorful eggs, ritual, and of course, an ample feast.

Ubisoft's (now) annual Ostara Festival in AC Valhalla brings this Pagan festival to life and replicates many of its features, including the use and hunting of colored eggs. Much like the Oskoreia Halloween Event, the game lines up this celebration and brings traits that are meant to emulate these actual rituals in Viking culture.

Players can take on a number of activities when exploring the site of this lively festival. In addition to the egg hunt, players can:

  • Take part in a Viking Brawl with a few casual fist-fight exhibitions.
  • Decorate the site further with the Let's Get Festive task.
  • Track down a local beast that roams the land in The May Queen quest.
  • Light up firepits around the settlement to ward off evil spirits in Spiritual Defense.
  • Hone Eivor's archery skills in Twirling Targets.
  • Partake in a drinking game in Braun's Folly.

In addition, the festival offers three notable new Skills: Fearless Leaper, Raven's Loot, and Loot Food.

Finally, players can access the Animus Store and gather the Godly Reward, offered for free. The 2022 festival brought Altair's Outfit among other gifts.

Egg Hunt Basket Locations

To start, Eivor will be given a riddle from Alwin. It says:

"The hunt is on and the eggs are hidden. For most of them, you'll need your vision. Six of them will get a clue. The other nine will be up to you. When all fifteen eggs you have found, return them to Alwin, safe and sound."

But for those who'd rather not decipher the six riddles, here are each of the egg locations, matched up with the video above:

  1. On the ground near Norvid, covered by plants.
  2. Directly behind the throne in the Ostara Festival area.
  3. On top of the wooden scaffolding next to the brawling area, right by a lantern.
  4. On top of a grassy roof near Thyra.
  5. Next to the river that runs under the bridge with the Archery Challenge.
  6. On a wooden plank that extends from the east side of the Longhouse.
  7. On the rafters inside of the Longhouse, near the center.
  8. On the ground in the Longhouse, near a blue shield.
  9. On the ground next to a tree just west of the Longhouse.
  10. Next to the big tree in the cemetery.
  11. On the ground by the Blacksmith.
  12. On the ground near Reda.
  13. At the end of the dock.
  14. By the waterfall near the Seer.
  15. On top of a large ancient column at the museum.

Once players have obtained all of these Baskets of Eggs and read the six riddles received at the start, they should return to Alwin and collect their rewards. For fans that are curious, those rewards are a bit of XP, 140 Festival Tokens, and unlocking the Egg Collector as a possible opponent in Ostara Brawl.

To note, there are indeed several other fun quests that players can complete for more Festival Tokens. These tokens can be exchanged for a variety of gear and cosmetics in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
