There are hundreds of quests in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Some quests will test not only the skill of the player but also their wit. One such quest is the "Clues And Riddles" quest. Gamers will unlock the quest once they have completed the "First Night In Samhain" quest.

During the drunken party at Tewdwr's house, Eivor will lose consciousness and wake up in Tewdwr's bed. Eivor will still be dazed from the night of drinking, and players will discover that wine was not the only thing spilled that night. Players will need to investigate the scene at Tewdwr's house to figure out what happened.

All Five Clues

First Clue

The first clue will be right in front of Eivor after he awakes. It is Tewdwr's bodyguard who has been killed. If players inspect the body, Eivor will reveal that he was murdered with a knife.

Second Clue

Next, players need to turn left and walk to the table down the hall. Eivor will inspect a broken pot that is covered in blood. He insinuates that it may have been used as a weapon.

Third Clue

At the end of the hall, there is a bloodstain that indicates a body was dragged from the scene. Eivor suspects that it is Tewdwr's blood.

Fourth Clue

Placed against the wall just behind the bloodstain is a storage cabinet. Gamers can grab the cabinet and move it to the side, revealing a hidden room. If players turn left as soon as they enter the room, they will find muddy footprints, suggesting that someone used the room to hide.

Fifth Clue

On the north side of the room, just opposite of the entrance, gamers will find Gwilim's Pouch. Eivor decides to hold onto it and is perplexed as to why the pouch would be in that room specifically. Eivor's interpretation of the events is that the murderers hid in the secret room and attacked while the men were inebriated. Tewdwr was incapacitated and dragged away.

Speak To Modron

After investigating the scene, players will need to speak with an NPC named Modron by the river in Glowecestre. Modron is located to the west of the city just south of the bridge. As players exit the house, guards will attack Eivor, suspecting he is the killer. Most of the guards are easily disposed of. Once all of the guards are dead, players should run to Modron's location.

Eivor believes that Modron will be able to identify what the herbs in the pouch are and where they came from. Modron will direct Eivor to a druid named Halewyn in the forest to the northeast of the city. The description will guide players to Halewyn's location which is near a lake to the west of the crossing of the Cearrwell and Great Ouse rivers.

Valhalla Clues and Riddles

Players will notice a road near the lake that leads directly to the Druid's Cottage. After meeting Halewyn, gamers will need to help him with the ritual to reveal the truth of what happened to Tewdwr. Gamers must have on the Mari Lwyd Mask to speak with the druid. He will believe that Eivor is a spirit in search of answers. Players should use their torch and light all of the wicker men on fire. There are a total of five that surround the Druid's House. Players will have to throw the torch to light the elevated wicker and the wicker hanging from a tree.

Gamers will then need to search the Druid's House for clues. The first clue is the Celtic symbol on the door that is to the left when facing the cottage. Skulls on the right side of the house are the second clue. The third clue is a hangman's noose and a knife, which are sitting on a table at the back right of the druid's home after entering the front door. The next clue is below the house, gamers will find the hole if they make a left from the table. The clue is two ladles carved from the same branch. The final clue is the statue at the center of the lake behind the Druid's House.

Solving The Riddle

Before talking to the druid, players will want to equip the spirit of the Mari Lwyd Mask. Gamers should follow the below dialogue path to get through the conversation as fast as possible.

  • The skull souls
  • Sabrina of the Severn
  • The Athame Dagger

Once players are done speaking to Halewyn, the quest is finally complete. Gamers will have to wait until the end of the next quest to find out exactly what happened that night to Tewdwr. The druid's rituals and methods are quite confusing, but at least players will no longer have to search endlessly for clues.
