Assassin's Creed Valhalla is borrowing from Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag to give players some nostalgic cosmetic items from the Golden Age of Piracy. Black Flag saw players sail around as Edward Kenway in the Jackdaw, a ship that players could customize throughout the game, which was so well-received it was honored in the Game of the Year "Jackdaw Edition" for Black Flag. Now fans of the famous ship can once again sail around with some Jackdaw-inspired items in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but they won't be around forever.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been out for about four months now, and developer Ubisoft recently added a free update to the game. The River Raids update allows players to participate in a bit of Norse piracy as they raid villages, monasteries, and military camps for new loot and rewards. Eivor will travel to different raiding areas in a new and fully customizable longship exclusive to the River Raids update, and now players can customize the longship with Black Flag inspired items.

In a tweet from Ubisoft, the developer detailed the items up for grabs and what players need to do to get them. From February 16 to 23, those looking to get the Jackdaw items must complete a few specific River Raid Challenges in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The customized longship hull and Black Flag sails are already available for everyone, considering the Assassin's Creed Valhalla community was required to play the River Raid mode 1 million times and has already done so.

The second challenge must be completed by players individually. Playing the River Raids mode at least 5 times will unlock the tailpiece on the longship and playing the mode 10 times will unlock the skull with ram horns figurehead. After February 23, these items will no longer be obtainable, so aspiring raiders looking to search for River Raid keys in full black sail have 4 days left.

The free River Raids update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla has added more than just expanded river raid opportunities. Finding those River Raid keys can net players some rare goods, as they open chests that contain pieces of the Saint George armor set. This armor set is quite good, as it comes with a sword and shield and provides bonuses to attack power and speed.

The River Raids update has also allowed players to obtain the Drengiligr Dagger, also known as the dagger of Ragnar Lothbrok. Acquiring this dagger will require besting six of Ragnar's lost Drengr warriors in combat, so raiders looking to max out their finds from the River Raid update need to come prepared.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
