As more details continue to emerge about Ubisoft's upcoming title Assassin's Creed Shadows, one current rumor suggests that the game is set to have a battle pass system at launch. Battle passes are more commonly seen in multiplayer titles, although all details at the moment suggest that the upcoming Assassin's Creed game will be an entirely single-player experience.

Assassin's Creed Shadows was first announced back in late 2022, under the working title Assassin's Creed Red. Very little was known about the game, although rumors naturally swirled for some time about its potential setting. After a period of waiting, Assassin's Creed Shadows was recently revealed in an official manner, with a cinematic trailer giving gamers details of the setting and main characters, as well as a confirmed November 15, 2024 release date. There are still plenty of unknowns when it comes to Assassin's Creed Shadows right now, but what has been shown so far looks great.

Assassin's Creed Hexe Probably Has a Huge Focus on Isu

The Isu are still playing a major role in the Assassin's Creed franchise, and they could take center stage in the upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe.

A tweet by Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson claims that Assassin's Creed Shadows will feature several battle passes, each of which will consist of 20 levels. Throughout these 20 levels, players will be able to earn new Assassin's Creed cosmetics for use in-game. Henderson names three of these battle passes as "The Hidden Network," "The Last Ronin," and "In The Shadows," although he doesn't confirm if these will be free or paid additions to the game.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Rumored Battle Pass Details

With no Assassin's Creed Shadows multiplayer mode to speak of, it remains to be seen how players will actually make progress within these battle passes, should the feature come to fruition. If they're a free addition to Assassin's Creed Shadows, they could be an interesting way to earn new cosmetics by encouraging players to play the game in different ways. However, if these battle passes are paid, it could cause a stir in the community, especially in a single-player title.

With Assassin's Creed Shadows' cinematic trailer now revealed, fans of the franchise are waiting patiently for their first look at actual gameplay from the title. While nothing is officially confirmed, it's a safe bet to assume that Assassin's Creed Shadows will likely make an appearance at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event, which is currently set to take place on June 10. There, hopefully, Ubisoft will give players more of an insight into the details of Assassin's Creed Shadows, and maybe even give a concrete answer regarding the battle pass rumors.
