Today, Ubisoft pulled back the curtain on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarok expansion. Players will step into Havi’s shoes once more as he travels to Svartalfheim to save his son, Baldr. It releases in March, so fans do have a little wait on their hand, but Ubisoft is also bringing something to both Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tomorrow—December 14.

Dubbed “Crossover Stories,” both AC Odyssey and Valhalla will get a new free mission connected to one another. The latter also sees Kassandra and Eivor come fist-to-first, or blade-to-blade, as mentioned in prior leaks, and it’s an exciting moment to see two Assassin’s Creed protagonists meet in the flesh.

The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey content is titled “Those Who Are Treasured” and attempts to answer the question of what Kassandra will do with the rest of her life. As fans know, she manages to hold on to the Staff of Hermes for millennia, eventually delivering it to the modern-day protagonist Layla. She lives for a long time before then, though, and this will showcase how she decides to spend that time, it seems.

The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla content is titled “A Fated Encounter” and explains what happens when Kassandra and Eivor meet. In it, Eivor travels to the Isle of Skye (Scotland) after a dream that she’d find Randvi there. Instead, players will run into Kassandra and must stop Scotland’s destruction at the hands of an Isu artifact. This collaboration comes from both Ubisoft Quebec and Montreal, in combining these two entries of the franchise.

To start these quests, players only have to finish the first chapter of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but obviously, it’s recommended that players beat the game first. The crossover content will deal with revelations that don’t take place until beating AC Odyssey’s main story and its endgame content. For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s quest, players will need to have achieved Settlement level 4 and have brought the Seer Valka into the settlement.

It should also be noted that players can tackle “Those Who Are Treasured” as either Kassandra or Alexios, but as the canon character of AC Odyssey, Kassandra is the one who’ll appear in Valhalla. At the same time, of course, players will be able to play that content as either gender for Eivor, though the art shows the canon historical character Eivor Varinsdottir. Overall, with the short wait and generally epic set-up, it’ll be interesting to see what this new content has in store.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla’s Crossover stories release on December 14 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
