Assassin’s Creed Mirage recently came out and was well received by fans, thanks to the game going back to the roots of the series. The story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, while short, is captivating and will easily make players come back for more.
How Assassin's Creed Mirage Sets Up AC Valhalla
Being a prequel, it's only natural that Assassin's Creed Mirage leads into Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but it does so in a pretty spectacular way.
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the player can unlock and access many tools that will prove useful during their playthrough. One of these tools is the Throwing Knives, which are, perhaps, the best of the bunch as they have many uses and can be adapted to the player’s gameplay style with their many enhancements.
How To Unlock Throwing Knives
The throwing knives will be unlocked very early on in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, specifically, in Alamut as the player advances. When it comes to upgrading, the player will have to wait a bit as it isn't possible to do so right away. When possible, the game will inform them that they can head to any of the Bureaus to proceed with the upgrade.
How To Use The Throwing Knives
To use the throwing knives, on PlayStation, the player can press on R2 and select the knives to take them out. Press L2 to aim and R2 again to throw them. Throwing Knives can have many uses throughout the game.
Killing Enemies
The most obvious use of throwing knives is against enemies to kill them. While the throwing knives might not have a high damage output at first, this can be changed by enhancing them. Making them a lethal, overpowered weapon that can be used from a distance.
Distraction
The player can throw one of these knives from a distance to cause a disturbance. These knives can be thrown, for example, at a flaming vase, which will explode. This can be used by the player to sneak in while guards are distracted.
Chain Assassinations
The throwing knife can be used during a chain assassination. For that, the player must have first unlocked the Chain Assassination skill.
When the player kills one enemy, they can then use a throwing knife to assassinate the other swiftly.
Destabilizing Enemies
One interesting feature the players might’ve missed is the possibility to temporarily destabilize some enemies, rendering them powerless for a few moments, which can be enough to deal a striking blow.
Using the throwing knife, aim at an enemy’s legs. If it hits, the enemy will fall over.
Alarm Bells Disabling
If a player is caught by a guard, the guard might try to alert other enemies. This can ruin a player’s attempt to sneak around unnoticed and will cause a herd of enemies to come after them.
The best way to avoid this is to cut down alarm bells when found. This can easily be done by throwing a knife at the rope holding it.
How To Upgrade The Throwing Knives
As a starter, the player’s knives will come with a 4 ammunition cap, a range of 18 meters, and 60 inflicted damage.
To upgrade the throwing knives, the player needs to head to the Bureau and talk to Ibn Musa.
There are three tiers of upgrades that the player can get access to as they play the game. These enhancements will turn the throwing knife from an okay tool to a deadly one.
The player can also reset and change to a different enhancement whenever they wish at the bureau.
