A Dance with Thieves

encountering murjana near pomegrenade gate

After reading the letter, gamers must meet Murjana, Ali Baba's daughter; she awaits at the Pomegranate Gate, south of the Karkh district. Her father, a well-known merchant, has gone missing, and she would like the help of a Hidden One to find him. Gamers must follow Murjana and ride to the Forty Thieve's hideout in the wilderness.

Once players have reached the hideout, they must take out the thieves surrounding the entrance. It's best to be as stealthy as possible during th mission, and gamers will want to kill the guards up above before taking those near the door. On the ground level, there are several bushes, allowing Basim to assassinate the guards while hidden. Unfortunately, players will discover Ali Baba's body near the scene.

Secrets, Spoken and Unspoken

Players must now return to Karkh and meet Murjana at Ali Baba's estate for the funeral. Inside the house, players will be able to unveil several clues on how to enter the hideout, including the magic words: Open Sesame. If not, Murjana will provide this information later on.

During a cutscene with Murjana, Basim will notice the thieves' symbol marked next to her home. This was left by the thieves so that others could come in the night and take her out. To confuse them, players will have to paint marks on four other doors. They must activate Eagle Vision to verify which houses they should mark.

After making the doors, gamers have to climb a pole so that they can wait for nightfall. Then he must take out all the bandits. After he's done this, he needs to take out the ones that have made it inside Ali Baba's Estate. Th mission requires players to kill quite a lot of enemies, so players should definitely stock up on heals and ammo beforehand.

Outside Ali Baba's Estate, where Basim encounters the first set of thieves, there is a palm tree surrounded by bushes, and it has food that he can eat to restore his health in case of an emergency.

Meet the King

basim and murjana and reaching the hideout

It is clear that the leader of the thieves has ordered them to track down and kill Murjana so Basim must find and take him out. Players have to return to the hideout. They will now be able to enter since they know the right words to open the door that leads inside. Before opening the door, gamers have to kill a few guards that have gathered around it.

The hideout is relatively small, but there are tons of enemies inside. There are two guards near the entrance that Basim can easily take out by performing a Chain Assassination. Then, they can keep moving forward until they reach a large round room - this is where they'll find the King of Thieves.

The Forty Thieves' hideout's main room has two levels. Gamers should take care of the enemies on the upper level before attempting to take down the boss on the lower level. It's best to kill the enemies stealthily, as the King of Thieves won't notice it, preventing him from engaging in combat right away. After the guards have been killed, it's time to deal with the King of Thieves.

The King of Thieves wields a powerful, fiery sword that can set Basim on fire. If this happens, players must press the Dodge button to roll. Then they must fight him like they would any other guard. Despite his sword, gamers shouldn't have too much of a hard time taking him out, as he has no other special attacks.

The Forty Thieves Reward

Once the King of Thieves has been killed, Murjana will thank Basim for his efforts, and The Forty Thieves storyline will come to an end. Gamers will receive the King of Thieves costume as a reward for their efforts, but before abandoning the hideout, they should activate Eagle Vision to scan the room, as it has tons of treasure and loot inside chests and other containers.
