Ubisoft is adding the fan-favorite outfit dyeing feature from older games in the series to Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This feature coming to Assassin's Creed Mirage was last seen in Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, which were released more than a decade ago.Outfits or character cosmetics in Assassin’s Creed titles have changed over the years as the story progressed through different eras. One key difference is that the older titles, especially the Assassin's Creed games that featured Ezio Auditore, didn't have a season pass system that would let players unlock more character skins and other cosmetic items. With Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood, Ubisoft introduced a dyeing feature that quickly gained popularity among fans, but it wasn’t a part of the games that followed. Now, the popular feature is set to make a comeback with Assassin’s Creed Mirage.RELATED: Ubisoft Reportedly Working on 11 Assassin's Creed TitlesIn a post on Twitter, the official Assassin’s Creed Mirage account posted a video announcing the return of the outfit dyeing feature. It gave a glimpse at the different hues players will be able to choose from to make their gameplay experience more personalized. Additionally, a behind-the-scenes video also revealed that Basim, the game’s main protagonist, will have different outfits according to the stages of his training. For instance, he will don a white outfit during his apprentice stage and will also eventually get the red sash once he becomes a master. Developers confirmed that this is the same red sash that was seen on Basim in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

With Mirage, Ubisoft is also bringing back some other features from older titles in the Assassin's Creed franchise. For instance, the game will let players enable a desaturated blue-grey color palette similar to Assassin’s Creed 1 to rekindle the nostalgia of the series’ very first game. Additionally, Mirage also sees the return of social stealth, a feature that was a staple during the Ezio saga, where Basim will also be able to pay off certain factions to let him blend in and vanish.

There are several new additions to Mirage’s combat mechanics as well. For example, Basim will be able to perform Chain Assassinations in the game, a feature that is seemingly borrowed from Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. There are also several new stealth gadgets being introduced that will help Basim perform unique assassinations or vanish in tricky situations. In addition to this, the parry mechanics in Mirage have also been tweaked compared to older games, where it is now seemingly easier to stagger and finish off enemies with a perfect parry.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is set to release on October 12, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
