Assassin's Creed Mirage's map will be comparable to AC Unity's Paris or AC Revelations' Constantinople, according to devs. Of course, it's been known for some time that AC Mirage was a much smaller-scale project than, say, the gargantuan sandbox of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. This comparison, at least, makes expectations surrounding exploration more clear.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is not a bloated open world, and because it returns to a city-focused setting, its parkour seems marginally improved as well. Many fans have been calling for more information, as while there are a few new tricks confirmed for Assassin's Creed Mirage's parkour, things like side and back ejects still remain unknown. The parkour has also been compared to the Ezio games, and it's clear that it's very similar to AC Valhalla just with a better, more defined setting. While how fans travel around the city still needs a deep dive, they now know the map size.

According to Easy Allies, who spoke to Ubisoft during the Summer Game Fest festivities, the devs "compared it specifically to Constantinople in Assassin's Creed Revelations and Paris in Assassin's Creed Unity." This immediately indicates a smaller scale, but remains a little confusing, namely because Constantinople and Paris have a sizable difference between them. Constantinople clocks in at 0.94 km2, whereas Paris is much bigger in comparison at 2.40 km2, as noted by vg247. It's still enough to know that Assassin's Creed Mirage is much, much, much smaller than the last three mainline games.

It'll be a few more months before fans go hands-on with the game to fully understand how the map size influences Basim's story, but it's worth noting how that city is filled is also key to the experience. Fans have gotten a small glimpse at how the city is structured to support Ezio-style parkour, but Game ZXC was also told in an interview last year that Assassin's Creed Mirage will feature crows akin to AC Unity. This is a big deal for stealth, for maneuvering around the city, and for it to feel as alive as AC Unity's Paris.

Fans will know for sure in about four months' time when the game is set to release. A delay for Assassin's Creed Mirage is not unfathomable at this point, but it is incredibly unlikely, which means fans can reliably expect to hit the streets of Baghdad relatively soon.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is set to release on October 12 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
