Types of Favor Tokens in Assassin's Creed Mirage
In total, there are three distinct types of Favor Tokens that can be obtained in the game. They are:
- Merchant
- Power
- Scholar
Depending on the party Basim is interacting with; these Favor Tokens can be used to haggle for lower prices, buy the use of mercenaries for help in combat, or distract guards using the power of music. There are also important junctures during the main story progression where using a Favor Token can save a lot of busy work.
Merchant Tokens
As the name suggests, these tokens are best used when dealing with the many merchants that can be found milling about in Baghdad. It is strongly recommended that players collect enough Merchant tokens and head to any of the blacksmiths or tailor vendors, using three Favor Tokens to get a maximum of 30% discount for their services.
Outside of that, they can be used for specific moments during the story, so make sure to always have enough in possession.
Power Tokens
Power Favor Tokens, on the other hand, are used for those bearing arms. This can be for mercenaries that are nearby guarded areas, where players can use them to eliminate the enemies and cause a distraction. It also ties into the Notoriety system of Assassin's Creed Mirage, where paying off a Munadi with a Power Token can instantly remove Notoriety levels.
Certain guards and officials can also be bribed using the tokens, but those instances are few and far between.
Scholar Tokens
Lastly, Scholar Tokens are used when Basim meets up with scholars and musicians out in the world. Should there be a need to grab the attention of guards that are around, talk to musicians to have them enthrall the enemy, or have scholars form a moving crowd to use for social blending.
How to Get Favor Tokens in Assassin's Creed Mirage
The easiest way to gain more Favor Tokens is to go on a pickpocketing spree on the streets of Baghdad. While it is random, it can be easy to build up a healthy collection of the three types without breaking a sweat, and a good way to grab those Mysterious Shards as well if they are nearby.
Another way to get a specific type of Token would be to embark on Contracts found at the Hidden Ones' Bureaus. Take note of the rewards up for grabs, and complete the missions to get what is needed. Either way, players will likely end up with more Favor Tokens than they truly need.
