Compared to other recent mainline Assassin's Creed titles, Assassin's Creed Mirageis relatively small and short. That being said, it's still a large open-world game with more to do and see than the original AC games.

Much like almost every other game in the franchise, Assassin's Creed Mirage doesn't end the game once players complete the plot and watch the credits. The game includes half a dozen collectible types, missions, achievements, and challenges, and players can continue to complete all of them after the credits roll. Basim will appear back in Baghdad after the trip to Alamut, and the post-game content will begin.

Collectibles

Players can gather every collectible type before or after completing the main plot. In fact, it's impossible to get the last Lost Book collectible without first starting the second-to-last mission, "Head of the Snake." While players have a chance to grab the book and bring it to the collector before leaving for Alamut, they can still stop by afterward.

Contracts

The contracts found in Hidden One Bureaus are still available after the main game ends. Much like the last Lost Book, the last contract, "The Dancer," takes Basim to the Palace of the Green Dome and is only available after "Head of the Snake" ends.

Collect and Upgrade Equipment

There are no collectible items or equipment in Alamut, so players don't need to worry about losing out on anything if they didn't explore every last corner of the region. At the same time, all the equipment and upgrade schematics in Baghdad are still there when players return, as are all the shops that can upgrade equipment and sell upgrade materials. The Banu Musa brothers are also still available to improve tools.

Achievements and Challenges

Assassin's Creed Mirage Hardest Achievements

Assassin's Creed Mirage has a variety of challenges and achievements, some of which are based on story milestones and some of which are gameplay challenges like "incapacitate 100 enemies with smoke bombs" and "pickpocket a guard affected by a blowdart." None of these achievements or challenges are based on taking down a story character in a specific way, so players can continue to work towards all the ones they haven't finished after returning to Baghdad.

The Forty Thieves

Players who preordered Assassin's Creed Mirage get access to a special bonus mission called "The Forty Thieves." This mission only unlocks after players assassinate Al-Ghul, the first head of the Order. However, players can feel free to start this mission at any time after this event, even after the main plot of the game ends.

In short, the only things players can't continue to do after finishing the story are the story missions themselves. Players can rush straight through the story or leave it to the end, because either approach won't miss out on anything. If players want to play the story, they will have to start a new game.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
