There are tons of enemies patrolling the city of Baghdad in Assassin's Creed: Mirage. Players will be tasked with performing a number of contracts during their journey, which will have them assassinating targets, escorting allies, and even stealing objects from heavily guarded locations. Some of these missions are much easier than others, with some locations seeing an absolute abundance of guards and enemies roaming the area. It can be downright difficult to understand where everyone is, even with Eagle Vision, as it only works to a certain range around Basim.

Thankfully, Assassin's Creed: Mirage gives players another tool to help them highlight guards and discover areas before they even step foot into the restricted zone itself. Basim is able to call his trusty eagle, Enkidu, which will give players a "drone-like" controllable camera that allows them to see areas from an overhead view while simultaneously uncovering hidden areas, possibly entrances, and even marking guards to make them easier to track. Here's a look at how players can use Enkidu in Assassin's Creed: Mirage.

How To Use Enkidu In Assassin's Creed: Mirage

How To Use Enkidu Showing How To Fly And Mark

Enkidu can be called by tapping up on the D-pad on console (B on PC). Once called, players will be immediately put into an aerial view and given control of the bird. By moving the thumbstick left and right (A and D on PC) players can control the direction in which Enkidu flies, and tilting up or down (W and S on PC) will cause Enkidu to change his altitude. There is a handy keybindings menu that shows up at the bottom of the screen when players are controlling Enkidu that will show them everything the bird can do. Players can make Enkidu move faster by using the boost key. Icons (like chest locations and the locations of certain NPCs) can be hidden by using the Hide Icons key. Toggling the "panel" will bring up (or hide) a special information panel that will showcase details about the location players are currently in.

The most useful ability when controlling Enkidu is to go "stationary." Doing so will cause Enkidu to freeze into place in the air and will give players a controllable first-person view through the eagle's eyes. This makes it much easier to track patrols, mark guards, and uncover hidden areas. At times, when controlling Enkidu, players will notice a gold circle that will seem to expand and contract when moved. This indicates that Enkidu can uncover a hidden item, location, or NPC. To uncover the secret, players need to move the circle until it contracts as small as possible, at which point it will disappear and a new marker will be shown on the map. Players are also free to create markings while using Enkidu which they can then see when controlling Basim.

It is also important to note that some areas will contain special Marksman enemies. If Enkidu flies too close to a Marksman, they will attempt to snipe the bird from the sky. This will lock players from being able to call or use Enkidu until they are either far enough from the Marksman or they eliminate him.

Enkidu is a valuable tool in Assassin's Creed: Mirage and players should be sure to use him as often as possible to get a lay of the land and understand the area they are going to be infiltrating before sending Basim in to take care of things.
