A recent post from a Ubisoft recruiter has offered some details on the upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe. The title was announced back during Ubisoft Forward 2022 where an Assassin's Creed Hexe teaser was showcased for the first time. The publisher is yet to share details about what to expect from the entry, although a new post from a Ubisoft staffer might hint at the game's potential look and feel.

Of course, the first teaser has already offered some interesting points about Ubisoft's ambitious title. For instance, the tone and imagery indicate that the game would likely have a dark take on the franchise and may follow a witch theme. In fact, the Hexe in the game's codename even translates to "witch" in German and has led many fans to speculate that Assassin's Creed Hexe may be set between 16th and 17th century Germany. While Ubisoft itself hasn't confirmed specifics on the game's setting, recently surfaced details may sound promising for the popular fan theory.

In a LinkedIn post, Ubisoft Montreal Talent Acquisition Specialist Yara Tabbara offered some hints on the Assassin's Creed game where she claims that it "will leave a lasting mark on the franchise." In response to one of the comments on the post, Tabbara further states that the game will have "strong feminine energy" in many ways. This falls in line with the general witch theme the game is seemingly going for, and it could mean that the entry may even be centered around a female protagonist. Although it's not a direct confirmation of the popular rumors, it does support the theory that Assassin's Creed Hexe may take place around late 16th/early 17th century Germany during the reign of the Holy Roman Empire in mainland Europe.

Of course, it will be interesting to see how the witch-themed game will look to set its mark among the numerous Assassin's Creed titles in the works, including the upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage, Red, Jade, and Nexus. Fans will also be likely curious to see how Assassin's Creed Hexe connects to the overarching lore of the franchise. Interestingly, some speculate that the game could have some connections to the Ezio trilogy considering the time period and the European setting. In any case, only time will tell how Assassin's Creed Hexe may truly take shape.

Apart from the new entries, Ubisoft is also investing in bringing back some of its earlier Assassin's Creed titles. An earlier report stated that Ubisoft is reportedly moving forward with an Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake and that it's in early development by Ubisoft Singapore. While it might be at least a couple of years away from seeing daylight, it could be a sign that Ubisoft may explore some of the earlier titles for possible remakes. Either way, it appears that fans will have no shortage of Assassin's Creed games in the years to come.

Assassin's Creed Hexe is currently in development by Ubisoft Montreal.
