As part of its official Assassin's Creed Showcase, Ubisoft releases an official teaser for Assassin's Creed Hexe and says the trailer is filled with secrets. Indeed, it would seem that Assassin's Creed dominated the Ubisoft Forward, revealing a grand total of five games, teasing the Last Chapter DLC for AC Valhalla, and more.

Assassin's Creed Mirage, which sees Basim grow from street thief to master assassin, ate up the most time during the showcase, while the hype around the Japan-set Assassin's Creed Red was definitely palpable. Assassin's Creed Hexe, however, may be the most mysterious. Game ZXC recently attended a preview event of the AC Showcase ahead of Ubisoft Forward, where Hexe definitely managed to impress.

Assassin's Creed Hexe: A Dark Take on the Franchise

At first glance, Assassin's Creed Hexe's trailer doesn't tease much. It's set in some incredibly dark and eerie woods, with the Assassin's Creed logo being formed out of wood and branches. There is some symbolism and whatnot scattered throughout the trailer, which may be tied to its secret. According to Ubisoft, there is a secret buried somewhere in this trailer, but it refused to elaborate beyond that. Fans will just need to dive in and see what they can find out, but it's hard to imagine it'll take long to decipher. The relevant portion takes place at the 26:00-minute mark below.

Furthermore, Assassin's Creed Hexe is in development at Ubisoft Montreal led by creative director Clint Hocking. Montreal is essentially the birthplace of Assassin's Creed, with Montreal leading multiple projects. Ubisoft Quebec is up there with Montreal, though now working on Assassin's Creed Red, but together the companies are collaborating on the Assassin's Creed Infinity Project. Both Assassin's Creed Red and Hexe are part of this project, though the exact nature of Assassin's Creed Infinity has yet to be detailed. It is described as less of a game and more of a hub, and it seems both games will launch via Infinity, whatever form it takes.

Ultimately, Assassin's Creed Hexe plays a relatively small part of the AC Showcase, but the very essence of its teaser and the dark teases set it up quite nicely. There are many questions, such as its exact setting, its release date, and whether it is an open-world RPG like AC Valhalla or a more classic experience like AC Mirage, but it definitely makes the future of AC seem a little brighter.
