The gear chests in Assassin's Creed Mirage are arguably the most important collectibles in the game. Each one contains useful weapons, clothing, or schematics that let players upgrade these items. The chest in the Bazaar on the south side of Baghdad is no different.
However, trying to reach this chest can be frustrating to players. Unlike most chests in Assassin's Creed Mirage, this one is in an area that the game locks away until the plot opens the path forward. Fortunately, another game feature lets players bypass this time lock, but only if their aim is perfect.
Where to Find the Bazaar Gear Chest
The Baghdad Bazaar is a big place. It has several floors, open-air and enclosed sections, and even a bandit hideout on the roof. Players can also find several chests in and around the Bazaar, but only one of them is a gear chest. To spot it, players should enter the Bazaar from the east and turn right at the first opportunity.
Taking this route should bring players close enough for the gear chest icon to appear on the compass. Players can then use Eagle Vision or Enkidu to spot its exact location. It's on the second floor, and there's a door close to the chest's location, but this door is barred. Players can also find a door on the first floor to the left of the chest, but this door is also barred.
Eventually, players will get access to this area by following the main quest. However, doing so isn't necessary to get the chest. While there are no windows with wide bars that suggest dagger throwing, the window into this area has wide enough holes to use.
How to Unbar the Door in the Bazaar
Starting from the upper door, use the tightrope to cross to the balcony on the other side. Turn right and continue along the balcony to spot a wooden window on the far wall. The barred door is on the other side of this window, and while the slats are close together, they're wide enough that the game will let a throwing dagger pass through them.
Players should use Eagle Vision to highlight the door bar to help them line up their shot. The balcony's ledge is close enough for a dagger to reach the bar, but players may want to jump onto the green tarp below them to get a better angle. Once players line up the shot correctly, the crosshair should turn red. Let it fly and players should hear a satisfying crunch when the dagger lands. Head back to the now-open door, and the chest should be just to the right. A heavy guard is also in this area, but players can evade him easily.
aThe gear in this chest is the Abbasid Knight Dagger. This deals the same damage as the starting dagger, but it comes with the special ability Resilient: when Basim's health drops below 50 percent, his Damage Resistance goes up by 30 percent.
