In Assassin's Creed III, players must hunt down seven Templar targets during the American Revolution. Players play as the Native American assassin named Connor Kenway as he tries to get revenge on the people who burned down his village and killed his mother. Connor's quest for revenge brings him through many iconic events in America's history and through many historical cities.

A few targets take the player to the sea, requiring them to take part in naval battles during the American Revolution. Don Connor's assassin robes and get on the hunt for these targets.

7 William Johnson

William Johnson is the first target that Connor goes after in the game. While Johnson is in John's Town meeting with Iroquois leaders, Connor sneaks in to assassinate him. Connor must climb up the cliff from the lake below, dodging any of Johnson's guards.

After making it to the top of the cliff, Connor climbs Johnson's manor and assassinates him from the air. During Johnson's final words, he will say his intentions were to protect the Iroquois people and that the colonists would become a threat to the tribe.

6 John Pitcairn

John Pitcairn's death happens during The Battle of Bunker Hill. Pitcairn is on the side of the British, staying inside the city of Boston. Connor assists the Continental Army by sabotaging two ships in the harbor, forcing Pitcairn to leave the city and into the battlefield.

Connor crosses the field between the two hills and makes it to the British side. The assassin sneaks through the British camp until he makes it to Pitcairn. Pitcairn's last words reveals the British soldier wanted to make a truce with the rebels, also revealing Pitcairn's death would worsen the war. Connor loots a letter from the soldier's body to unveil a plot to assassinate George Washington, saving the general's life.

5 Thomas Hickey

Thomas Hickey was the Templar who was supposed to assassinate George Washington. When Connor first confronts Hickey, they both get arrested and sent to prison. Connor sneaks out of his cell to Hickey's, only to discover the murdered warden. Connor is blamed for the death and plot to assassinate Washington and is sentenced to death.

As Connor is about to be hanged, he gets rescued by other assassins. Hickey freaks out and rushes to kill Washington, only to get stopped by Connor. Hickey's last words only mocked Connor, but Connor was finally able to prove his innocence.

4 Benjamin Church

Benjamin Church was hunted down by both Connor and Haytham Kenway. Church betrayed the Templar Order, leading the father and son to team up. Church escapes on a ship, meaning Connor had to chase him on the Aquila.

The Aquila catches up to Church's ship, only to find it abandoned. The Aquila is led into an ambush, causing Connor and Haytham to board Church's ship. In his final words, Church tells Connor where the supplies Connor is after are located. Church is then killed.

3 Nicholas Biddle

Nicholas Biddle is the captain of the Randolph, and comes under attack by Connor after leaving a French ship called La Belladonna defenseless. Connor defends La Belladonna before turning his attention towards Biddle.

Connor attacks Biddle's ship, destroying its mast. Connor and the Aquila's crew boards Biddle's ship afterwards, going after the Templar. When confronted, Biddle shoots a powder keg and sends him and Connor to the deck below. Biddle is overpowered, asking in his final words for the Randolph to be sunken and Biddle being allowed to go down with the ship. Connor agrees, sailing away as the ship explodes.

2 Haytham Kenway

Sadly, Connor must fight his father towards the end of the game. Haytham fears that his son has become a threat to the Templars, choosing to put an end to Connor's life. As the French bombard Fort George in New York City, Connor gives chase to Haytham.

In the courtyard of Fort George, Haytham taunts his son and tells him the Templar Order would rise again. He also denies the Templars having anything to do with Connor's village burning down. When it looks like Haytham has the upper hand, Connor stabs his father with his hidden blade. In his final moments, Haytham mentions he has a kind of pride in his son and that he should have killed Connor long ago.

1 Charles Lee

Charles Lee is the final Templar target in the game. Connor intercepts Lee at a dockyard in Boston, giving chase to him. Both run through a ship, which is set ablaze due to an accident. Both crash through the floor, with Connor impaling himself on a wooden splinter. Lee walks up to him, but Connor shoots him in the chest.

Both survive, with Lee escaping and taking a ferry to Monmouth. Connor finds Lee at an inn, where the two share a drink. Lee gives Connor a slight nod, with Connor stabbing Lee in the heart afterwards. Connor takes the amulet he was after from Lee, with Lee falling to the ground dead.
