Players of Assassin’s Creed 3 will likely remember being transported to the American colonies during the American Revolution. They should also remember that by progressing through the game, players open up more and more outfit options for the main character. Though there are quite a few options in the game, one fan recently pointed out an incredible concept art outfit that unfortunately never made it into Assassin's Creed 3.

Assassin’s Creed 3 was the fifth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and introduced the third major historical protagonist: Connor. Players can eventually unlock a variety of different outfits from the Assassin’s Creed series for this character, but the developer drew up concept art for more.

In this post by u/stolepeterparkersgf, an impressive concept art the developers came up with for Connor is shown. Assassin’s Creed 3, as with other games in the series, has a number of memorable concept art renditions of everything from potential outfits and scenes to locations and enemy types. This image shows off an incredible outfit that the development team had considered before releasing the game. This outfit looks impressive with a sharp, beaked hood adorned with menacing eyes, a white cape that splits off into feathers, and a strong color combination of red and white. Overall, this outfit has a lot going on, but each part works really well together and should remind players of the wild outfit Connor wears in Assassin's Creed 3's DLC.

Concept art for video games show potential designs for characters and areas in a game. These provide an interesting look at some of the designs that didn’t make the cut as well as function as an important steppingstone when it comes to designing a game. With regard to this armor design in Assassin's Creed 3, it seems likely that the developer’s thought that other designs worked better in the game than this one did.

Unfortunately, sometimes concept art can leave players such as this one wondering why this outfit ended up being cut. Because concept art doesn’t necessarily have to take into consideration the limitations of a game, these designs can push the limits. While this allows for more freedom for the developer, it leaves some players missing something they never could have.

Then again, the outfits available within Assassin’s Creed 3 and its DLC were varied and interesting in their own right. Especially when considering the Animal Spirit outfit was available in this game. Either way, this player shows off a design that would have been great to see in Assassin’s Creed 3.

Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
