An artist recently shared a drawing of Kratos from the God of War franchise in the art style of Hades. The artwork was uploaded following the announcement of Hades 2 during The Game Awards 2022. Both God of War and Hades are critically acclaimed games based on Greek mythology where the protagonists face off against powerful gods and creatures.

Released in 2020, Hades cultivated a passionate fandom thanks to its exciting rogue-like action, intriguing storyline, and a roster of characters pulled from Greek mythology. Fans would often create art inspired by Zagreus, Megaera, and other beloved characters. Supergiant Games' elaborate map and costume designs have also inspired many artists to do their own spin on the game's distinct art style.

The latest Hades-style art work came from artist Patrick Ganas. On his social media pages, he shared a digital drawing of Kratos as if he was a character that Zagreus would meet in the Underworld. His gear, from the shoulder strap to the gauntlets, was drawn with intricate details, which were similar to how Supergiant Games would design its characters' costumes. Ganas said on Twitter and Instagram that he had been experimenting with different art styles, and the Hades 2 reveal trailer inspired him to try out this particular one.

Ganas' work garnered thousands of likes on Twitter and Instagram. Fans of God of War Ragnarok and Hades praised his work, calling it "awesome" and "incredible." Some expressed that there should be a crossover of these games since both Kratos and Zagreus are part of Greek mythology. One fan also theorized that the two would be good friends if they ever met. It would be an interesting concept to see how their fighting styles would complement each other.

While there's still no official release date for Hades 2, the game will be available in early access sometime in 2023. The game introduces Melinoe the Princess of the Underworld, who will take on the Titan of Time. According to Supergiant Games' website, Hades 2 will be a direct sequel, but players aren't required to finish the first game before getting into it.

Apart from the Hades 2 announcement, God of War Ragnarok also won big at The Game Awards. Santa Monica Studio bagged six awards for the game, including Best Performance for Kratos' voice actor Christopher Judge, Best Action/Adventure, and Best Narrative. It was also nominated for Game of the Year, which was ultimately won by FromSoftware's Elden Ring.

God of War Ragnarok is out now for PS4 and PS5.
