Players of Armored Core 6 have spent the time since the game came out taking on its most brutal bosses and perfecting their AC designs. With certain weapons and parts proving particularly powerful compared to their peers (like the ZIMMERMAN shotguns, for example), it's not that surprising that patch 1.02 makes changes to some of the less optimal weapons.

Instead of nerfing some of the game's stronger weapons, this patch for Armored Core 6 focuses on strengthening underperforming weapons and thus making builds utilizing those weapons more viable. The patch also makes changes to three of the game's most dangerous bosses.

Weapon Balance Changes

The following Changes were made to weapons stats:

  • MA-J-200 RENASETSU-RF: Increased Attack Power and Rate of Fire, decreased Reload Time.
  • MA-J-201 RANSETSU-AR: Increased Attack Power and Projectile Speed, decreased Reload Time.
  • LR-036 CURTIS: Increased Attack Power and decreased Reload Time.
  • RF-025-SCUDDER: Increased Attack Power and Projectile Speed, decreased Reload Time.
  • MG-014 LUDLOW: Increased Attack Power, Total Rounds, and Projectile Speed. Decreased Recoil and Reload Time.
  • DF-MG-02 CHANG-CHEN: Increased Attack Power, Total Rounds, and Reload Speed. Decreased Reload Time.
  • MA-E-210 ETSUJIN: Increased Attack Power, Total Rounds, and Projectile Speed.

These changes seem intended to make less optimal weapons, such as burst rifles and assault rifles, more viable throughout the game. This is likely intended to encourage build diversity in light of the overwhelming preference for shotguns and gatling guns in the current meta.

Boss Changes

The Patch Notes rather cryptically state that adjustments were made to "certain attacks performed by the enemy units AAP07: BALTEUS, IA-13 SEA SPIDER, and IB-01: CEL240.

While the exact nature of these changes is not immediately obvious, it is likely that these bosses were made less aggressive, making it easier to exploit openings in their attack patterns.

Bug Fixes

These are the bugs that were fixed in Patch 1.02:

  • Bug that prevented certain weapons from dealing damage to the boss in "Destroy the Weaponized Mining Ship."
  • Bug that prevented the boss of "Prevent Corporate Salvage of New Tech" from detecting the player.
  • Bug that caused some enemies to not display correctly during "Survey the Uninhabited Floating City."
  • Bug that caused certain enemies and background objects to display incorrectly during "Attack the Old Spaceport"
  • A bug causing vertical missiles and some coral weapons to deal unintended amounts of damage.
  • Better Camera Controls when spectating in online arena battles.
  • [Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/Steam] Bug causing the game to enter offline mode and become unable to save progress after the device enters and then leaves sleep mode.
  • [Steam] Fixed the text displayed onscreen after selecting "Quit Game" from the system menu on the title screen.
  • [Steam] Bug that caused some bosses to be rendered incorrectly.
  • Unspecified "Other Bug Fixes"

Many of these bugs made certain missions of the game easier or more difficult than intended, so these changes are very much welcome.

Armored Core 6 is available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
