Picking the correct Leg Parts of an AC is an essential piece when building a mech in Armored Core 6. This is due to the fact that aside from dictating how an AC will move around the battlefield, Leg Parts have a crucial role when it comes to which weapons a player’s AC can roll out with and how well their ACs can take damage before being staggered.

That said, which Leg Parts are the best ones for building an AC? Here are the best options based on the type of Leg Parts, their stats, as well as advantages and disadvantages during the heat of battle.

The Leg Parts chosen for this article have their stats to help players have a floor when choosing their ideal Leg Parts for their respective builds. Each Leg Type will determine the general playstyle of an AC, so it will fall under the players’ preference once they pick a starting part.

The VE-42A Bipedal Legs boasts one of the heftier and sturdier Bipedal Legs among available ones in the game. As one of the heavier Bipedal Legs, the VE-42A can support heavier Core Parts, Weapons, and other Inner Parts.Unlike lightweight and middleweight Bipedal Legs, Heavyweight Leg Parts like VE-42A have more Attitude Stability. This makes ACs with this Leg Part harder to get staggered. The VE-42A also has commendable AP which allows players to take more hits than other Leg Parts.

On the downside, as with most heavy parts in the game, equipping the VE-42A will make the player’s AC a bit on the slower side. This can be remedied by picking good Boosters that can either give more steady movement speed or Quick Boost speed for more evasion, as well as a Generator that can fulfill the AC’s energy needs.

Reverse Joints are typically built for Quick Boosting and in-and-out skirmishes against targets. That said, most Reverse Joints are made with lightweight ACs in mind. This means opting for lighter weapons and a more offense-centric strategy since they can get handily bodied if the opponent manages to land a hit.

The RG-2000 SPRING CHICKEN bucks this trend by being a Reverse Joint that can accommodate heavier Core Parts and Weapons while still allowing players the movement of a Reverse Joint. It sports a good amount of AP and decent EN Load, which means players can mix and match between Kinetic and Energy Weapons.

As far as defensive stats are concerned, the SPRING CHICKEN has the most decent stats compared to the other Reverse Joint Leg options, especially Attitude Stability. But players have to take note that Reverse-Joint Legs are not built for defense, so it is best to lean into what they are great at. For builds that want to focus on close-quarters combat, the SPRING CHICKEN is a great option.

Tetrapod Legs are often used for aerial bombardment, and a key factor for maintaining such superiority is how much firepower an AC with Tetrapod Legs can wield. As far as options are concerned, the best Tetrapod Legs in the game is the LG-033M-VERRILL.

The VERRILL has a great Load Limit of 76200, which means it can support a heftier Core Part or a slew of heavy weapons without much issue. It also has great Attitude Stability stats, making ACs that have this as their Leg Parts harder to get staggered.

When it comes to mobility, Tetrapod Legs are generally the least mobile option. The VERRILL stumbles on this end as well, as its Boost Speed gets a knock due to the weight of the AC’s Core Parts and armaments that it will need to support. Then again, most Tetrapods will resort to hovering in the air when dealing damage, so players have to determine the best combination of Boosters and Generators that will fit what their weapons of choice need to get going.

1 Treads: EL-TL-11 FORTALEZA

ACs that run Tank Treads often mean that they are going to pack heavy weapons that deal massive damage, but are cumbersome and would render them slower than the average AC. The EL-TL-11 FORTALEZA challenges this notion by being a highly mobile Tread option that can also wield heavy artillery against opponents.

The FORTALEZA is a middleweight Tread option that mixes the strengths of tank treads and the mobility of non-heavyweight parts into a nice package. It has a decent Load Limit that can support a dual Stun Needle Cannon and Heavy Gatling Gun combo while still having the ability to zip around the battlefield.

While it doesn’t give beefier stats on AP, its mobility makes up for it. The FORTALEZA handles way faster than the other Tread Leg Parts and can still ram enemies with the Boost Kick if players have it unlocked in the OS Tuning. Its speed and handling are easier to control and some players even use this with the HMMR melee weapon to whip opponents as they circle around them.

Armored Core 6 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
