Season 11 of Apex Legends is in full swing, and the developers at Respawn Entertainment appear to have no intention of slowing down. Recently, the game studio announced a new update coming to the game called the Raiders Collection Event. During the announcement for the event, it was revealed that Wattson would be the next Legend to receive an exclusive heirloom.

Introduced at the beginning of Season 2, Wattson has had an interesting journey leading up to Season 11. With the ability to place electric fencing as well as a powerful Interceptor Pylon, her kit is built around defensive play. While the Legend has not always been the most viable pick in competitive matches, she has maintained a dedicated fanbase over the seasons. With this in mind, an exclusive heirloom for Wattson should be an exciting addition for many fans. However, it seems that not everyone is satisfied with the appearance of the new collectible.

Since the reveal of Wattson’s heirloom called the Energy Reader, many members of the Apex Legends community have voiced their opinions about design. Unfortunately, it appears that numerous gamers were dissatisfied with the final product. Some even claimed that the heirloom looked like a price scanner found at a supermarket. “Can I get a price check on this item over here?” one user on Reddit quipped. While not everyone thought the design was that bad, many expected more considering how long the character had been rumored to receive an heirloom. “I feel like all the Wattson Mains deserved something better for waiting so long,” one fan said.

Despite many players disapproving of the design, several people on social media stated that they actually liked the look. They thought the collectible was unique, claiming that it looked like nothing else in the battle royale. Another highlight for some was how the heirloom incorporated the adorable Nessie found in the game. For those wondering, a picture of the cute dinosaur periodically appears on the screen of the Energy Reader.

Besides this new heirloom, the Radiers Collection Event is bringing a number of new skins to the game. With a pirate theme for the event, these new legendary cosmetics feature a swashbuckling appearance. The Legends receiving a new look include Revenant, Bloodhound, Wattson, Pathfinder, Loba, Wraith, and Valkyrie.

It will be interesting to see if fan reception concerning this exclusive heirloom warms up once it releases. For those die-hard Wattson fans that want to add this new collectible to their collection, it becomes available at the start of the Raiders Collection Event on December 7. However, it is only obtainable through ultra-rare heirloom shards or collecting all 24 items included in the event.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
