Season 7 was a big one for Respawn Entertainment's popular free-to-play battle royale, Apex Legends. In addition to introducing a brand new gravity defying legend called Horizon and the Olympus map, the game finally launched on Steam, opening the game up to a whole new and massive PC player base. As always, fans want to know what's next and thanks to a slew of leaks and rumors, players may have a good idea.

While much of that has still to be verified by Respawn, it seems the wait to know the truth may not be quite as long as expected. The developer has begun to tease new content coming to Apex Legends in a few weeks alongside Season 8. Last week, the developer brought back the classic version of King's Canyon along with the Mirage Voyage ship. Billboards around the map also feature a message indicating Salvo is joining Syndicate, the group behind the Apex Games, with the group's logo on one side and the Syndicate logo on the other.

Respawn also used its social media channels to continue the season 8 teases, posting artwork of a handshake between someone representing the Syndicate Group and other other representing the organization known as Salvo. Text on the poster reads: "The Syndicate and Salvo...United at Last. Approved by the Committee of the Unification Board." The gif then flips to the logo of the Salvo M.C. group which is a skull and two middle fingers raised high.

According to the game's lore, Salvo is a planet in the Outlands that, until now, had been independent of the Syndicate. Eagle-eyed fans who spotted a letter on Wattson's desk may have noticed that recently, leadership on the planet has changed and those now in power sympathize with the call for peace and will become the seventh planet to sign the Mercenary Syndicate Treaty. The letter also had a lot of redacted information, which will likely become clearer once Season 8 is revealed in full.

While it's unlikely that season 8 will be set on a new map on Salvo this soon, many fans have come to link the upcoming Legend with this announcement. Recent leaks have seemingly revealed the character known as Fuse, an explosives expert that fits quite nicely alongside the name Salvo. According to datamined information, the character's ultimate ability appears to be a firebomb of sorts. After taking enough damage, the bomb explodes and leaves a large ring of fire inside of the detonation area. Players will likely be hearing more as most characters are teased in game such as Horizon adding gravity lifts to the map.

Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version in development.
