Ranked fixes are inbound for Apex Legends, now in its 16th season and still going strong. According to a recent post by Respawn Entertainment, several fixes to the way promotion and demotion in Apex Legends ranked mode are handled, as well as the way RP loss is displayed, are to be rolled out in the days to come.February 14 marked the release of season 16 of Apex Legends, with the launch of the much-anticipated Revelry update to the game. Including the new Nemesis weapon, a Team Deathmatch mode, and a shakeup to the Legends archetype formula, the fast-paced battle royale is still going strong four years from its original release. In a bullet-point list, the tweet claims that players will no longer be inaccurately demoted, will not be shown incorrect visual data on RP loss, and will receive a one-time RP restoration to make up for the current issues. While many fans were pleased with the announcement, some took the opportunity to express their own grievances with the game, asking when Respawn plans to address what they feel are more pressing matters. Some friction with the community is unavoidable, and Respawn Entertainment has shown every indication it plans on continuing to iron out the bugs and shortcomings with its ever-evolving free-to-play battle royale.

Four years from its surprise launch, Apex Legends has grown into a juggernaut in gaming. Bringing a class-based system to the winning formula of battle royale, fans have stuck with Apex Legends through thick and thin, and while the game is far from perfect, Respawn has been diligent in its pursuit of making the most polished title possible. While two spin-offs set in the Apex Legends universe were recently canceled, the Apex Legends board game will launch in May 2023, and the possibility is still there for a single-player-focused game set in the universe to feature at some point in the future.

With changes to Ranked imminent, Apex Legends players should find it easier to grind through the divisions in ranked mode. Respawn has not announced what comes next for its acclaimed battle royale shooter, but fans are already hungry for more.
