An Apex Legends leaker has claimed that Season 21 will introduce a quads mode, akimbo weapons, and more. The major update for Apex Legends is expected to release on or around May 7.

A previous leak revealed Apex Legends' next character called Alter, who is also expected to be added in Season 21. The Skirmisher's abilities include a passive that lets users remotely loot a deathbox, a tactical that forms a passageway through surfaces, and an ultimate that creates a regroup point for all teammates to utilize. These characteristics probably remind fans of other Legends like Wraith or Loba, whose abilities also allow users to escape tough situations. It seems that fans have more promising additions to look forward to in Season 21.

Some Apex Legends Players’ Accounts Reportedly Reset, Respawn Working on Fix

Reports are surfacing within the Apex Legends community regarding unexpected account resets following the game's recent April Fools update.

Twitter user and Apex Legends leaker Osvaldatore, who leaked the Alter news as well, stated that Season 21 will add a solos and quads mode. The leaker said they appear not to be limited-time modes, suggesting they will stick around for a while and could be permanent. Osvaldatore also claimed that Season 21 will introduce akimbo versions of the P2020 and Mozambique, which will still take up one weapon slot and allow the user to carry an additional gun. The leaker said it's unclear whether attachments can be equipped to the akimbo versions of the pistol and shotgun.

New Apex Legends Leaks For Season 21

The addition of a solos and quads mode comes as a surprise to some fans, as Apex Legends has long been expected to stick to its usual three-player squads format going into the future. In January, lead designer Devan McGuire stated there were no plans to bring a solos mode back since Apex Legends is a squad-based game at heart. This makes the potential return of a solos mode only months after that statement a bit surprising, so it's important to note that the new leaks are still unconfirmed.

Developer Respawn Entertainment previously added a solo mode to Apex Legends as a limited-time offering back in 2019. While the mode gave the game a new pace and overall feeling, it also highlighted how Apex Legends is in some ways designed from the ground up for three-player teams. Fans have already begun speculating how Respawn plans to adjust certain Legend abilities to fit into a potential quads or solos mode.

In recent news, Apex Legends released its annual April Fools update earlier this week. The humorous update added temporary features like an anti-gravity effect and wild variants for the Mozambique. The event has since concluded.
