Some Apex Legends players have become frustrated with the Nemesis Burst AR, claiming it needs a nerf to fit better within the meta for Season 16. With this being the first season to launch without a new character, the addition of a new weapon was meant to be one of the highlights of this new seasonal update. Unfortunately, it seems that the feedback from the Apex Legends community has not been wholly positive in regard to the new gun.

Introduced as the latest assault rifle for the game, the Nemesis fires a 4-round burst and has an automatic trigger. While there are other burst weapons in Apex Legends, like the Hemlock Burst AR and Prowler Burst PDW, the Nemesis stands out due to its use of Energy Ammo and a charge feature, allowing the gun to fire faster. In addition, it can hold this charge for a short duration before it starts to decay. Following its release, players have found the gun to be very effective in a number of different types of engagements.

However, many players think the Nemesis in Apex Legends is too powerful and needs a nerf. In a post on Reddit, a user known as Intrepid-Event-2243 claimed that “everyone agrees the [Nemesis] is overpowered.” While it is hard to tell exactly how many players have taken issue with the new weapon, Intrepid-Event-2243 has already gained more than 1.7K upvotes on their Reddit post, suggesting that many gamers agree something needs to be done about the gun.

Not content to state that the Nemesis was overpowered, the Reddit user asked the Apex Legends community how they would nerf the weapon. Among the answers, a popular one was to reduce the damage dealt by one while only allowing the weapon to charge when it hit a target. In addition, another user proposed making the weapon take longer to fully charge. With over 705 comments, there was no shortage of opinions on the matter.

It will be interesting to see what Respawn Entertainment decides to do with the Nemesis going forward. While the developer wants its latest weapon to be a popular pick, it seems it could use some fine-tuning to make it more balanced in relation to the other guns in the game. That said, players can only wait until Respawn decides to alter the weapon's stats. However, it is worth noting that the developer has already implemented a hotfix in Season 16 for a problem with early leavers in Apex Legend’s Team Deathmatch, so it is possible that another update could come in the not-too-distant future.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
