Apex Legends is getting an update that tweaks Legends, adds a new LTM, alters the map, and brings a brand new item to the game. The changes point to one of the biggest mid-season updates Apex Legends has ever seen.

The Lost Treasure Collection Event comes jam-packed with just about every type of addition or change imaginable. Just like all "Collection Events," new skins are available to purchase and collect. Additionally, Mirage is receiving his heirloom, which happens to be a gold trophy of himself.

The Armed and Dangerous limited-time mode is making a return. The mode sees players only being able to use snipers and shotguns, guaranteeing that each gunfight feels very different from the standard mode. Additionally, Mobile Respawn Beacons are being added to Apex Legends. The item will automatically be in players' inventory at the start of each game, and it will allow players to respawn dead teammates in any location. The new item will only be in the LTM for now, but as soon as the event is over it will be added to the loot in the standard modes.

apex legends crypto town takeover

Town Takeovers, like Bloodhound's in Season 4 or Octane's (the very first) are interesting ways to freshen up the maps. A Crypto Town Takeover is being added to King's Canyon as a part of this update.

One of the most exciting changes in any Apex Legends update is buffs and nerfs to the Legends of the games. Before the update, it was hinted at in a video that Lifeline would be receiving a buff. Lifeline now has the ability to revive players with her "D.O.C" drone, meaning she can continue on fighting, looting, etc. while the drone does the work. However, to combat this she will no longer have the ability of being able to heal herself faster than other Legends.

Octane also needed a buff, and the update has followed-through. Octane will not be able to Stim himself through movement impairing effects, like Caustic's Nox Gas or Wattson's fences. His Stim sprinting speed is also now 10% faster. As a change that helps his entire team, all players who bounce off of Octane's Jump Pad can now double jump in the air, improving the height and distance.

Nearly every Legend receive a small change, including Wattson being able to place down more of her Pylons at a time and Wraith getting adjustments to her Phase Walk, but none of the changes are as massive as Lifeline, Octane, or even the Mirage buff from earlier in the season.

There are quite a few changes in this update, and fans are excited or even nervous about some of the Legend changes. But the best way to find out how everything plays is to download the update and start dropping in. Check out the full patch notes here.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch port coming this fall.
