Kings Canyon is finally back in the Apex Legends map rotation. After being absent for the majority of Season 7, the original Apex Legends map is returning for a limited time with a special addition. Kings Canyon now features the Mirage Voyage party ship in the area that was previously the infamous Skull Town. The Mirage Voyage made its first appearance in Season 3 as part of the Mirage Town Takeover during the first annual Holo-Day Bash.
Apex Legends Season 7 introduced the new map Olympus and removed Kings Canyon from the rotation. Olympus is still currently in the map rotation, but players will be able to jump into Kings Canyon until January 21st for some nostalgia and a secret to be discovered. The Mirage Voyage has a voice recording for players in the cabin that will reveal some interesting lore.
Inside of The Mirage Voyage cabin, players can listen to an audio recording from Mirage's mother. The message is fairly heartbreaking, as Mirage's mother sounds tired and has a hard time recalling memories. It's evident that Mirage's mother is suffering from Alzheimer's, but manages to recall a few of Mirage's family members. His mother mentions Uncle Droz, who is a pilot from the 6-4 faction in Titanfall 2. Mirage's mother also brings up Davis, who also appears in Titanfall 2 and later forms The Last Resort faction along with Droz.
Along with The Mirage Voyage, Kings Canyon also has another ship flying high above the map with a billboard advertising that Salvo is joining the mercenary organizers of the Apex Legends tournament called The Syndicate. This is possibly a teaser for Season 8 where fans may learn more about Salvo, the mysterious planet mentioned in the Family Portrait Season 7 quest and in a memo in a piece of official artwork featuring Wattson's office desk.
As players are jumping into Kings Canyon while Season 7 winds to a close, a couple leaks may have revealed what is in store for Season 8. A datamine has revealed hints that Fuse may be finally coming to the Apex Legends roster. Fuse was previously leaked and thought to be the Season 7 legend, however, it appears his Firebomb ultimate ability will be teased with an in-game event possibly launching today. According to the datamine, the last two rings will add Fuse's Firebombs raining from the sky that players will have to avoid.
The teaser has not been officially confirmed so players will have to wait to see if these bombs start dropping soon. Players still have time to enjoy Kings Canyon and The Mirage Voyage ship for another few days, and will soon transition into Season 8, which is expected to introduced a huge patch and lots of new content.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Switch and mobile versions currently in development.
