There are only a few shooter games out today that offer a diverse roster of characters like Apex Legends. Currently, in its 13th season, the battle royale title continues to grow strong among fans. As the developers look to make continuous updates to its roster and gameplay elements, Apex Legends players seemingly want more changes to be made, specifically to characters like Crypto.

Part of the challenge of providing a battle royale title with a variety of unique playable characters is the need to consistently update the game to ensure a balanced experience for all players. This is particularly tricky when certain characters are designed in a way that makes them difficult to use. For instance, quite a few gamers view Crypto as one of the hardest legends to learn compared to other characters in Apex Legends. But even though Crypto received a long-overdue buff in Season 12, players want more changes to the Legend, as some claim the update has hindered gameplay instead of making it better.

Recently, one player from the Apex Legends subreddit pointed out that Crypto's buff was actually a nerf. User Kai-ni mentions three main issues that are causing problems for Crypto players, such as the seemingly long time it takes to enter the drone without a visual indicator, the drone facing the wrong direction after entering, and the loud noise around Crypto's drone action. The post is only a day old, but so far it has received over 130 upvotes and more than 60 comments, with many agreeing with Kali-ni's points.

The post also suggests possible changes that could be implemented to fix the Apex Legends character. These range from reducing the time it takes to enter the drone fully to re-introducing the drone's health, which it had before the recent Crypto update. Amidst the ongoing Apex Legends Season 13, apart from "general clunkiness," the user further attributes the biggest problem with the latest season to volume, pointing to a similar issue to Revenant's ultimate.

As of now, it's unclear if the developers will take note of the attention around the Crypto character to make more changes. Players are already experiencing issues around a recent camper update on Apex Legends where certain out-of-bounds areas in maps no longer work as intended. As such, it's possible that Respawn may release a patch to fix this and could include some quality of life changes to Crypto as well. For now, only time will tell if such changes come.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
