One of the most popular aspects of Apex Legends Season 12 right out of the gate was the Control limited-time mode, which allowed gamers to go up against each other in 9v9 clashes over a wide map. Many fans called for Control to become a permanent feature and mourned when it was removed from the game at the beginning of the month. Now, a new Apex Legends event is bringing back Control alongside a wealth of new features.

The warm reception Control received during its first outing in February may have something to do with its prompt return. Control is so different from the main battle royale mode found in Apex Legends that fans may want to brush up on tips for playing Control before its new appearance.

A video was recently posted to the official Apex Legends YouTube account. It serves as a trailer for the upcoming Warriors Collection Event, which will bring Control back to the game for the first two weeks of the current Apex Legends season. The event will run from March 29 until April 12 and add a new map, a new set of 24 limited edition cosmetics, and a Caustic Treatment takeover of the Kings Canyon map.

Gamers may be excited to hear that Kings Canyon is returning after being disabled to deal with a bug, especially since the map is coming back with a whole new look. Apparently, Caustic Treatment converts the area into a three-point battleground for control over Kings Canyon, and the trailer showcases more cover and a hover tank, among other new additions. Also new is the Drop-Off map for Apex Legends’ 3-on-3 game mode, which takes players up to the heights of Malta--and, seemingly, the electrical hazards of Hammond Robotics. A wide array of cover is available for players to dart around, but the map also features a stark drop on at least one side.

The list of new cosmetics includes the "Synthetic Huntress" skin for Ash, the "Riding Dirty" skin for Octane, and the "Combat Survivalist" skin for Lifeline. However, there are still more rewards available for players who participate in the Warriors Collection Event. Each week of the event will have its own reward track, offering players daily challenges and points. A stretch challenge will also offer four unique badges for players to earn. That said, gamers may feel that the real reward is the chance to play Control again.

Apex Legends is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Mobile.
