Apex Legends is one of the most successful battle royale games on the market today, with its popularity rivaling that of other games in the genre, such as Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone. There are numerous reasons for the success of the title over the past few years. Some examples include its fast-paced movement and the large and diverse cast of Legends that help keep the gameplay fresh. In addition to these positives, another aspect of the game that many players enjoy is the various hop-ups available for weapons.

As part of the loot pool since Season 1, hop-ups make the gunplay in Apex Legends feel unique. They are special attachments that can be equipped to certain guns that modify their abilities. While the game has introduced several new hop-ups this season, such as the Kinetic Feeder, players seem to like some of the classics better.

Recently, fans have taken to Reddit to discuss the hop-ups in Apex Legends. Among the comments, one player desperately wanted the Skullpiercer hop-up to return for the Wingman. Known on Reddit as Supercomfyplanet, they argued that not only did the attachment reward players with extra damage on headshots, but it made the sound of the revolver even better. Since posting their plea for the reinstatement of the hop-up, many fans took notice. With over 3.2K upvotes on Reddit, many seemed to echo the sentiment of Supercomfyplanet.

While the topic of this Reddit post was about bringing back the Skullpiercer for the Wingman, it sparked discussion about reintroducing other classic hop-ups to the battle royale. For example, some players wanted to see the Selectfire Receiver make a return for the Prowler and the Havoc. In addition, the Anvil Receiver was another popular attachment that many in the community believe deserves another chance in the game.

Despite many fans being in favor of seeing these classic hop-ups return, some were less enthused about the idea. According to one Reddit user known as Azbann, they believed that the Wingman was already in a strong place in the current weapon meta. They feared that bringing back an attachment that increased the damage of the weapon could prove to be OP.

It will be interesting to see how the developers at Respawn Entertainment respond to these comments from fans in the community. Perhaps they will look take the advice of some gamers and add a throwback LTM into the mix, giving players a chance to relive the metas of classic seasons. Regardless, it seems players will have to wait and see what is in store for the battle royale in the coming days.

Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, while a Mobile version is available in some regions.
