Apex Legends players and YouTuber Bobz has found a combo of abilities that creates an invincible turret. The turret comes from the ultimate of the defensive Legend Rampart, while the newest addition to Apex Legends, Catalyst, makes it unkillable by gunfire. While there are ways to destroy the turret and kill the shooter still, this might make the combination a powerful weapon against enemies that don't realize what is happening.

Apex Legends is Respawn Entertainment's battle royale, which combines traditional survival aspects of the battle royale genre with the abilities of hero shooters, like Overwatch. Apex Legends Season 15 Eclipse was launched at the beginning of the month. It added a new Broken Moon map and a new Legend to the game. The newly added defensive Legend, Catalyst, has a tactical ability Piercing Spikes, a passive ability Barricade, and the ultimate ability Dark Veil.

While Season 15 in Apex Legends didn't buff or nerf any Legends, it did change the dynamics by adding the new Legend, Catalyst. Those that have acquired the Legend have been spending a lot of time in the past 10 days to perfect it, and many have made it seem like it could have real use in the meta, too. Much of the meta consists of older Legends, like Bloodhound and Pathfinder, but there's definitely room for changes.

In the arguably overpowered combo that was demonstrated by Bobz, the Rampart player uses their ultimate to create the minigun turret "Sheila" in the middle of a doorway. After it has been added, Apex Legends' newest hero Catalyst can use their passive ability, Barricade, to add a net of ferrofluid on the doorway, creating an impassable web. This doesn't affect the function of the turret, the player controlling it can still turn it and shoot it, but no bullets as able to pass through the web to hurt the turret user.

It isn't a completely invisible combination, however, but has made Rampart slightly better in Apex Legends. The ferrofluid can be removed by an opponent by melee attacks or explosives. However, since the doorway is protected by a turret, melee is likely out of the question. Considering that grenades aren't the easiest to hit, especially when being targeted by a Sheila, depending on the positioning, this might be a battle that has to be avoided. At this point, it's hard to say whether this will be patched or remains in play in the future, but for the time being, it seems like a very effective way to defend the compound.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
