Respawn Entertainment has released a quick fix for Apex Legends that reverts Horizon's Gravity Lift nerf. The nerf was reported to be a mistake as it wasn’t announced in the 15.1 update notes.Horizon is a powerful Legend introduced in Season 7 of Apex Legends. One of Horizon’s best abilities is called Gravity lift, which basically allows her to throw a special device that launches every player that enters it into the air. On January 10, the Apex Legends Spellbound Collection Event was introduced in the game, and with it came a few changes, one of them involving the Gravity Lift ability. Horizon players reported that the Legend’s accuracy while using the aforementioned tactical ability was abnormally low.RELATED:Rumor: Apex Legends Making Big Spawn Change Next SeasonHowever, Horizon fans will be happy to hear that Respawn Entertainment announced on Twitter that the erroneous nerf was swiftly fixed. That being said, Apex Legends Senior Producer John Metina replied to the tweet implying that the nerf might have been planned all along, but accidentally released too early: “Sometimes things escape that aren’t fully ready for prime time especially with ALGS coming up.”

For the uninitiated, ALGS stands for Apex Legends Global Series which is an international esports competition. In 2023, ALGS will be held in London, with the first round currently scheduled for February 2. It makes perfect sense that the Apex Legends developers would not want to make important gameplay changes right before such a notable eTournament starts.

Before the accidental nerf, there were many Apex Legends players who believed that Horizon was too strong and deserved a nerf. Horizon dominated Season 15, with many high-ranked players using the Legend in order to achieve great in-game success. Her abilities give her exceptional mobility with very few drawbacks. For example, her Gravity Lift tactical ability allows players to effortlessly gain high ground during combat, which is a key advantage in any battle royale game. This coupled with the Legend’s Spacewalk passive ability which allows her to move faster in the air makes Horizon a very popular choice for every type of player.

This recent chain of events leads gamers to believe that another Horizon nerf will arrive soon. In the meantime, players will continue to enjoy the latest in-game event, the Spellbound Collection Event, which features several brand-new Legendary skins and brings back the fan-favorite Control limited-time mode. The Spellbound Collection Event will last from January 10 until January 24, while Season 15 of Apex Legends is currently scheduled to end on February 14, 2023.

Apex Legends is currently available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
