Despite Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania not being out for another week, Marvel might already be thinking where Scott and Cassie Lang will be heading next as studio executives have shared the news of Ant-Man 4 is very much on the table.

The idea will be quite welcome by MCU fans fearing Ant-Man will not make it out alive in his third solo film, as several people have theorized that as a by-product of Kang The Conqueror’s rise to power within the unfolding multiverse. Nevertheless, even if superhero deaths are rarely final, that prospect speaks volumes about Marvel Studios’ in the Ant-Man franchise as it heads towards Phase Six and beyond.

These statements were picked up by ComicBook during a recent Marvel press event, where producer Stephen Broussard confesses "We're already thinking about it," as far as Ant-Man 4 is concerned. Broussard sums up the urge to continue working on Marvel movies as a matter of thinking “You're like, 'Yeah, what if we did X and what if we did Y?' [...] you can’t help yourself,” though the main takeaway for Paul Rudd’s character is that those talks between him, series director Peyton Reed and Marvel boss Kevin Feige are happening.

While this is Broussard’s first Ant-Man movie, he has co-produced several of the studios’ movies, including the first Captain America and Doctor Strange entries, Iron Man 3, or more recently Loki and Werewolf by Night. If Ant-Man does indeed get a fourth movie, that tally would see him tie Thor’s count, although the God of Thunder’s future is likely to include a fifth film.

Since the first Ant-Man movie came out in 2015, the character has always been one of the more unfancied Avengers with his movies receiving smaller production budgets and not becoming as popular as the MCU’s linchpins, nevertheless, that is all set to change in Quantumania. After all, Ant-Man 3 has been labeled by its marketing campaign as the film that pulls the pin on the Multiverse Saga with Jonathan Majors’ villain being praised in many of the first reactions prior to its official release.

Even if Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania depicts a bleak outcome for Scott Lang, Marvel’s intent could be interpreted as a sign that he will be one of their core Avengers in the lead-up to The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. Considering Paul Rudd is not getting any older, Ant-Man 4 definitely sounds like a great pitch.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will release in theaters on February 17, 2023.
