Sometimes, however, characters have no additional powers and are simply human. In these situations, a character can still fight and win, but they'll need to rely on their wits to do so.

10 Re: Zero: Natsuki Subaru

Natsuki Subaru

Natsuki Subaru is unlike standard isekai protagonists as he is transported to a fantasy world, however, his physical powers are unchanged from those in his former world. While he has the ability to return by death, this is not an overpowered magic skill that allows him to vanquish his foes through violence.

Even the ability itself, the ability to turn back time upon death does not mean he will win the next time. Instead, Subaru must think and understand what he knows of the future in order to figure out what the appropriate action is. He is only capable of victory if he uses his mind and plans ahead.

6 Mirai Nikki: Aru Akise

Aru Akise

Mirai Nikki, also known as Future Diary gives characters the ability to predict the future. With this information, they can take action to counter the events foretold in their own diaries in the hope of surviving to the end of the game.

Akise is special in many ways, however, his great intellect is the real cause of the resolution to the events in the series. His own diary is powerful in its own right, but having the knowledge of what will happen is different from being able to use it, and only by understanding and using this information does he bring about his desired future.
