Anime is a medium well-known for its strong characters that have performed spectacular feats while possessing phenomenal abilities. Even though most have outstanding physical strength as their forte, others compensate with equally impressive supernatural powers. However, the degree to which anime characters use these abilities varies greatly depending on the character.
Moving an object as large as a mountain is no easy feat, and you would be hard-pressed to find many anime characters capable of doing that, despite the vastness of their fictional world. This list, however, contains ten anime characters who, throughout their respective stories, have displayed strength capable of accomplishing such an arduous task. Although some may not possess physical strength capable of lifting mountains, they possess abilities capable of doing such splendidly.
10 Toriko (Toriko)
Toriko is a story set in a world known to be in the Gourmet Age, an era where food holds the highest value and powerful individuals seek to obtain the greatest ingredients. Toriko is the titular protagonist of this story. He is a Gourmet Hunter, a person with exceptional abilities tasked with hunting dangerous animals with supernatural origins and obtaining rare ingredients.
After returning from the Gourmet World, a world generally unfit for human occupation mostly due to the abnormal strength of the beasts residing within it, he returns to the human world incomparably stronger than he was before. At a point in the story, he is even seen carrying a rice bowl with a mass rivaling that of a city, after which he proceeds to throw it to the farthest reaches of the earth. Dispersing its contents and temporarily eliminating world hunger.
9 Tatsumaki (One-Punch Man)
The world of One-Punch Man is known for its absurdly strong heroes and equally powerful villains, with a ranking system in place that classifies beings within both categories in terms of strength. Tatsumaki is an S-Class hero with peerless psychokinetic abilities even when compared to other espers in the series. A fact that is further emphasized with her position as the Rank 2 hero.
The staggering extent of her powers has been displayed on many occasions. Such as when she lifted countless boulders the size of meteors out of the sea to launch at the fusion of Psykos and Orochi. And when she hauled the entire monster association headquarters aboveground during that same battle, with the illustrator even once confirming that Tatsumaki has enough power to lift the whole Z-City.
8 Mob (Mob Psycho 100)
Shigeo Kageyama, also known as Mob, is a middle school student who, despite his normally expressionless demeanor, possesses strong telekinetic powers. He can store absurdly large amounts of psychic energy and is capable of performing a multitude of extraordinary feats upon release.
Mob’s psychic abilities can take different forms, but their strongest manifestations—which mirror his emotional condition after losing control of his abilities—surface when he achieves 100% explosions. For example, in his fight against Toichiro Suzuki, he is seen lifting multiple skyscrapers and clumping them in a ball before eventually sending them crashing down to earth. He is at his strongest though, at ???%, where he can cause natural disasters just by simply walking.
7 Anos Voldigoad (The Misfit of Demon King Academy)
The Misfit of Demon King Academy is set in a fantasy world where there once existed a powerful being known as the Demon King of Tyranny, the strongest of all living creatures. Reincarnated 2,000 years later, this being, also known as Anos Voldigoad, would be born into a world with a general power level incomparably inferior to his. Highlighting his already ridiculous strength even further.
Anos has incredible magical power but has also been shown to possess remarkable physical strength in multiple situations. For example, in the anime, he lifted a castle with one finger, after which he spins it around and throws it over a considerable distance. Later on, in the light novel he further demonstrates his power by grabbing the moon and moving it, causing a solar eclipse.
6 Jiren (Dragon Ball Super)
The world of Dragon Ball is known to have many ridiculously strong characters, with Jiren firmly belonging to that category. He made his first appearance in the tournament of power, a battle between the strongest beings in the multiverse, and was considered one of the strongest, if not the strongest, fighter in the competition.
He can easily match the power level of the strongest characters in the series, as seen when he effortlessly dispatches Goku and Vegeta during their first direct encounter. Though there were no further avenues for Jiren to display the extent of his strength in the tournament of power, he is known to possess strength rivaling that of a God of Destruction. Beings with the ability to effortlessly destroy planets and universe-level threats.
5 Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Gurren Lagann)
This mecha is an entity that differs greatly from others of its kind. Starting as a combination of two relatively unimpressive mechs forming Gurren Lagann, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann serves as its ultimate evolution after facing many powerful foes.
It is a mech that has always required more than one pilot to perform optimally since its first appearance. In its final form, it is a mass of energy with the appearance of a mech, created by the collective Spiral Power of the members of team Dai-Gurren. It exists on a level far surpassing that of literal galaxies and has shown it has the power to withstand impact on the same level as the big bang, a force on par with the creation of the universe.
4 Demon God Shinra (Fire Force)
Shinra Kusakabe is a fire soldier belonging to the Special Fire Force. An organization that recruits people with pyrokinetic abilities tasked with extinguishing infernals and saving lives. Initially, Shinra was a third-generation pyrokinetic able to generate flames of his own. However, as the story progresses, he experiences constant growth, with his power reaching unimaginable heights.
Many records exist of Shinra's superhuman feats, but the peak of his powers is displayed towards the end of the series when he achieves his Demon God form. In this state, he possessed raw strength capable of moving the moon, slotting it back into place after it had been hurled out of orbit towards the Earth.
3 Whitebeard (One Piece)
Being one of the greatest pirates ever to set sail on the seas of One Piece. Edward Newgate, also known as Whitebeard, was a character with a frighteningly imposing presence, further complimented by his astonishing devil fruit powers. As the captain of the Whitebeard pirates, one of the strongest pirate groups shown in the One Piece series, he once held the title of the strongest man in the world.
Whitebeard possessed the ability to send vibrations through any object, possibly causing earthquakes, tsunamis, and many other earth-shattering phenomena, using his Tremor Tremor Devil Fruit. For instance, in the Summit War of Marineford, he shook the entire island to its core, despite its entrance having been fortified with Seastone resistant to the effects of devil fruit powers. At the peak of his powers, he is even said to hold the potential to destroy the entire world.
2 Goku (Dragon Ball)
Son Goku belongs to the Saiyan race. A species of humanoid lifeforms with an endless thirst for battle. Goku was originally sent to earth to destroy the planet. However, after forgetting his purpose due to a head injury he sustained as a child, Goku forms friendly relationships with many of the planet's people and has now established himself as one of the strongest warriors in the universe.
Goku's strength has boundless potential, and his feats are too numerous to begin to recount. He is said to hold the power to destroy planets in any of his Super Saiyan forms. During the first appearance of his Super Saiyan 3 form, it was said that his mere energy caused multiple earthquakes worldwide. Without mentioning his strength in stronger forms such as Ultra Instinct, it's already very clear what this battle-crazed alien can do.

Regarded by many as the strongest character to ever exist in the medium, Saitama is a hero who has pushed the known limit of human physical capabilities to the extreme. Despite being ignorantly evaluated as a B-Class hero, Saitama is easily the strongest being in the series, consistently eliminating Dragon and even God-level threats without needing to take a single fight seriously.
The bounds of Saitama's strengths are still unknown, as no villain he has encountered so far has managed to push him to his limits. The bald hero possesses frightening strength that many say defy reason. In his fight against Cosmic Fear Garou, the Caped Baldy performed several mind-blowing feats, even for his standards. Such as withstanding a carrying the force of a nuclear explosion and creating an impact strong enough to destroy multiple solar systems. However, the most astonishing part of the battle came when he cleared a large portion of Jupiter's surface with a single sneeze, after severely damaging one of the planet's moons, Io.
