The number of -dere types in anime is never-ending, especially considering the vast personality types present in anime. From shy but kindhearted sweethearts to arrogant and prideful loudmouths, it seems there is a -dere label for every personality type, making the chances of a new -dere type being introduced very probable.

Perhaps one underrated -dere type that is already present in anime is the oujidere. Considered the male counterpart to the himedere, the term itself is derived from ouji (which is Japanese for prince) and deredere (Japanese for lovey-dovey). Characters who are considered oujideres are known for their prince-like characteristics, with these characters being the best examples.

8 Tamaki Suoh - Ouran High School Host Club

Tamaki Suoh in Ouran Highschool Host Club

As the de-facto leader of the Host Club, Tamaki Suoh presents himself with an overbearing air of drama and pomposity. Known as the Prince within the Host Club, his sweet words and gentleman-like ways are able to woo even the sternest of women, making him a popular member within the slew of hosts.

Despite his well-refined manners, Tamaki can still be prone to childish outbursts when something goes awry. He will often times cling to his second-in-command Kyoya Ootori, whom he considers a motherly figure of sorts, for help. Initially acting as a father figure to the new member Haruhi Fujioka, Tamaki eventually develops romantic feelings for her, resulting in the two of them getting married at the end of the manga.

7 Ayame Sohma - Fruits Basket

Compared to his younger brother Yuki, Ayame is far more flamboyant, not hesitating to make comments that are lewd in nature. Possessed by the Snake of the Chinese Zodiac, Ayame retains the overconfidence and the big personality that is often associated with the animal.

Though his overbearing exterior may suggest otherwise, Ayame is haunted by his failure to be a loving older brother to Yuki during his childhood. Because of this, Ayame strives to be a person Yuki would be proud to call his brother, though his over-the-top mannerisms make this goal quite difficult.

6 Yumichika Ayasegawa - Bleach

An injured Yumichika prepares to fight Hisagi in the Bleach anime

The Fifth Seat of Squad 11, Yumichika is frequently shown to be very narcissistic. He constantly classifies his opponents as well as his surroundings as either beautiful or ugly. Needless to say, Yumichika is very quick to anger whenever his beauty is compromised in any way.

The full extent of Yumichika's vanity can be seen in his fight with Charlotte Chuhlhourne, in which Yumichika even refused to look a Charlotte due to his appearance. But despite everything, Yumichika still cares for his allies, especially Ikkaku Madarame, to the point of challenging a powerful lieutenant upon hearing news of Ikkaku's defeat.

My Hero Academia Heroes With Mythological Influences Yuga Aoyama- Narcissus

Also known by the moniker Can't Stop Twinkling, Aoyama's personality can be best described as prince-like. He is overly confident in his appearance and abilities and demands attention from everyone in the vicinity. Befitting his personality and sparkly theme, Aoyama possesses the Navel Laser quirk, allowing him to shoot lasers strong enough to break through solid concrete masterfully.

Outside his glitzy facade, Aoyama has demonstrated his level of perception, namely being the first person to realize Uraraka's crush on Deku. Although he usually has more than enough confidence in himself and his abilities, Aoyama finds himself falling into despair when Class 1-A discovers his ties to All For One.

4 Vegeta - Dragon Ball

A grinning Vegeta as he appears in the opening for Dragon Ball Z Kai

As the prince of the endangered Saiyan race, Vegeta needs no introduction when it comes to having prince-like traits. From his initial obsession with immortality to his perennial rivalry with Goku, Vegeta's ego is only matched by his immeasurable strength, which has grown considerably since he first arrived on Earth.

Vegeta's hubris initially led him to have little to no concern about his friends and loved ones. He infamously killed Nappa after he lost to Goku and showed no sympathy when Bulma and Baby Trunks were nearly killed by Dr. Gero. Ironically, however, it is when he is at his most evil (having been possessed by Babidi at the time) that Vegeta finally shows his compassion for his loved ones.

2 Alois Trancy - Black Butler

Alois Trancy first appears as another lord with his butler Claude Faustus. As such, the pair bears a striking similarity to Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis. However, very much unlike Ciel, Alois behaves in an abusive manner, having no qualms about abusing his servants, with his maid Hannah Annafellows being his favorite target.

Being the head of the Trancy household, Alois is also very spoiled, constantly making outrageous demands of his servants and enacting severe punishments should they fail. As a result, many fans of the Black Butler series strongly dislike him.

1 Lelouch vi Britannia - Code Geass

Lelouch vi Brittania Code Geass

Lelouch was the prince of the Holy Britannian Empire. He and his sister Nunally were forced into hiding after his mother was murdered. Initially, an ordinary schoolboy, he becomes far more flamboyant and calculating upon obtaining the power of Geass and creating his alter ego Zero.

As Zero, the leader of the Black Knights resistance group, Lelouch exudes a natural charisma, saying exactly what those following him want to hear and appealing to their sense of morals. But despite the stone-hearted personality he displays as Zero, Lelouch still shows compassion for his loved ones, especially towards his sister Nunally.
