Twitter user Faysaysnay recently shared an Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan art that swaps the cute aesthetic for one that suits the Dungeons and Dragons universe. Variants of Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters Paula, Cherry, Apollo, Blanca, Lopez, Broccolo, Wart Junior, and Cleo resemble Halsin, Karlach, Gale, Astarion, Wyll, Shadowheart, Lae'zel, and Minthara respectively. While most Baldur's Gate 3 companions are represented in Faysaysnay's fan art, some notably missing characters are Minsc and Jaheira. Because there are many non-companion Baldur's Gate 3 NPCs, there may be more Animal Crossing crossovers to come from Faysaysnay.

Apart from the characters, the Baldur's Gate 3 logo has also been given an Animal Crossing makeover in Faysaysnay's art. Beyond what was shared in the fan art, some Baldur's Gate 3 players have speculated on what animals their favorite characters would be. One fan suggested that Minsc ought to be a hamster, while others pointed to the Octopus being the perfect swap for the Baldur's Gate 3 Mind Flayer. As some fans claimed that horse Minthara and mouse Shadowheart are perfect combinations, others inferred that bear Halsin and goat Wyll are complimentary of each other.

Although Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Baldur's Gate 3 may not have obvious crossover appeal, Faysaysnay's art has many fans. While some of these players are enthusiastic about acquiring the fan art, the artist has other plans for it. According to Faysaysnay, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan art of Baldur's Gate 3 characters is being turned into a sticker sheet. Because these are being made into stickers, the creator may sell their unique creation through Etsy.
