There are many types of mothers, from working moms to overprotective ones to masters in the kitchen. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the player has a mother that sends them postcards and gifts but is never seen in person. Yet, there are still characters that can fill that motherly role.
Some villagers seem like they would be great moms. Whether it's their personality, catchphrases, house, or habits, those characters allow players to roleplay chatting with their "mom" and visiting their cozy homes. Mother's Day doesn't have to only be in the mail with these villagers.
11 Kitt
Kitt is a yellow kangaroo. Her catchphrase is "child" and likely refers to the baby kangaroo she carries in her pouch, called a joey, making her literally a mother. Kitt is a normal villager, meaning she is polite, sweet, easy to befriend, and loves cleaning. Her house includes items such as an upright piano, ironwood kitchenette, ornament mobile, pop-up toaster, dolly, and yellow kitchen mat.
Kitt gives off the vibe of being a mom with a newborn. She would be the type of mother to buy her kid every toy they wanted even if they had plenty at home.
10 Alice
Alice is a normal koala villager with the education hobby. She will often wear glasses to read and inspect nature with a magnifying glass. She wears pink hairpins, pink lipstick, and has freckles. As a normal villager, she is kind, caring, and friendly to most characters in the game. Her house includes items such as an armchair, botanical rug, coconut wall planter, Monstera plant, and an open-frame kitchen.
She's the type of mom to often be in the garden doing yard work. However, she'd always stop what she was doing to talk with her kids.
9 Agnes
Agnes is a sisterly pig villager. She has the play hobby, meaning she likes to run around the island like a kid. Agnes is very protective and cares about her looks a lot. She has six eyelashes and wears a striped halter dress. Because she is a sisterly villager, Agnes gives the players tips on relaxing and provides medicine if they're hurt. Her house includes items such as a lily record player, pet bed, cat grass, terrarium, cat tower, and floral swing.
Agnes is a cat-loving mom, putting just as much love into her pets as her children, and would let her kid pick out which pet at the shelter they wanted to adopt. She is the type to always carry bandages and snacks in her purse.
8 Lucy
Lucy is a normal pig villager. This means she is kind, wakes up early, and gets along with most other characters. She is pink with rosy cheeks and wears a frilly dress that makes her look very feminine. Her house looks like a performance hall, which is fitting because she has the music hobby. Lucy's home includes items such as a grand piano, red carpet, video camera, and flower stand. Her phonograph plays "K.K. Sonata."
Lucy is the type of mom to go to every one of her child's music performances or sports events and videotape all of it. She would also proudly display pictures of her kids and their artwork around the house.
7 Megan
Megan is a bear villager with lavender fur and a smile that slants left. She loves sweets and is sweet herself, and her names in other languages suggest this, like "Candy" in French and "Carmela" in Spanish like caramel. Her house includes items such as a pot rack, inflatable sofa, cacao tree, long bathtub, mini-fridge, and dish drying rack.
Her catchphrase is "sundae" and she seems like the classic southern mom that would be baking all the time and offering sweet tea to guests. She's the type to wake her kids up and pack them lunches in the morning.
6 Nan
Nan is a normal goat villager and her name is a shortening of the word "nanny." This implies that she takes care of children when their parents are busy. Her catchphrase "kid" is a reference to what baby goats are called. She has freckles and a curl in her hair, making her look cute and approachable. Her house is elegant with the walls covered in black botanical tile wallpaper. Her home includes items such as a grand piano, kitchen island, double sofa, tissue box, and rattan vanity.
Nan is the type of mom to always be worried about her children being happy enough. When the kids would be out of the house, she'd likely invite the other moms over to chat and have a drink.
5 Fauna
Fauna is a deer villager. Her catchphrase is "dearie," both a play on her name and a loving nickname. She has red cheeks, two eyelashes, and wears a Bohemian tunic dress. As a normal villager, she will act nice to the player often. Fauna has the nature hobby, meaning she loves reading and examining plants. Her house includes items such as a pot rack, cutting board, bookshelf, cuckoo clock, and bookstands. Her portable record player plays "K.K. Stroll."
She's the type of mom to bake cookies and then bring some to the neighbors. She would also host pool parties in her well-kept backyard during summer break.
4 Maple ​​​​​​​
Maple is a bear cub villager with the catchphrase "honey." Her name likely comes from her being sweet like syrup. She has eyelashes and blush and wears a sweater. As a normal villager, she is very easy to befriend. Her house includes items such as a gas range stove, magazine, birdcage, revolving spice rack, baby bear, and mom's cushion.
Maple is a crafty type of mom who would knit their children a scarf for winter. She would do all sorts of DIY projects like making macramé rope swings to hang her plants from.
3 Ursala
Ursala is a bear villager with the sisterly personality. Because of this, she will teach players how to relax and give them medicine if stung by a wasp. She's caring and protective. Ursala wears a striped-maxi dress and her house is decorated with pink furniture made of cherry wood. Her house includes items such as a deluxe washer, garden table, refrigerator, hanging terrarium, and cute music player.
She's the type of mom to really listen to what her kids have to say. Ursala looks like a classic stay-at-home mom who is happy to take care of the house.
2 Olive ​​​​​​​
Olive is a bear cub villager. She wakes up at 6 am and is a normal villager, meaning she is polite, sweet, and loving. Her catchphrase is the affectionate name "sweet pea." Her house includes items such as a wooden waste bin, study poster and desk, globe, wooden bed, corkboard, and bookstands.
Olive's house looks like a child's bedroom that she would keep tidy. She's the type of mom to tuck her child into bed and read them a bedtime story.
