The Animal Crossing series has always been filled with many animals of differing personalities. One of these personalities has been there from the very beginning, that being the jock personality. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players will always start out their new island with one jock villager already living there. Because of this, there are plenty of jock villagers that have become favorites among players.

Jock is the most common personality type of all villagers with 70 jock villagers throughout the entire Animal Crossing series. Not all of them have returned for later games, but many of them do appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It is important to note that only male villagers can be jocks and it is believed that the peppy personality could be the female counterpart of jocks. Here are some of the very best in no particular order.

Dom

Animal Crossing Dom

While not looking anything like what one would assume to be a jock, Dom is a jock villager. His birthday is March 18th and he is a sheep. Like most sheep villagers, Dom is very popular for his cute and fluffy appearance. However, one of his biggest appeals is his adorable face that makes it look like he's about to cry at any second.

The absolute juxtaposition with his cute face and desire to work out make Dom a lovable jock, although someone should probably keep an eye on him and give him a shoulder to cry on if necessary.

Teddy

Animal Crossing Teddy

Teddy is a bear villager that has appeared in every single Animal Crossing game since the beginning. Being a character with a lot of history behind him, he has been a neighbor to millions of players for over a decade. As a bear, he is one of the taller types of villagers and towers over players, but fitting with his name, he cares about players and really is just a big teddy bear.

Teddy's birthday is September 26th.

Genji

Animal Crossing New Horizons Genji

Genji is another very popular jock villager, first appearing in the original game. Not to be mistaken with the Overwatch character of the same name, Genji is named after the titular character from The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu. With his blushed cheeks and active personality, this little rabbit has made his way into the hearts of many Animal Crossing players over the years. Players also enjoy his traditional Japanese style with his design as well as the interior of his home, which reflects a zen garden of sorts.

Genji's birthday is January 21st. Originally, his catchphrase was "otaku," but this was changed to "mochi" in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Kid Cat

Animal Crossing Kid Cat

The leader of a super hero team in Animal Crossing, Kid Cat is a jock cat with a red helmet. Some players may notice that Kid Cat and his teammates are based on the Power Rangers or Super Sentai, however Kid Cat's posing is based on the Kamen Rider series. The other villagers part of Kid Cat's team are Agent S, Big Top, Rocket, and Filly, although Filly isn't available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

With his tiny size and big personality, this kitty is one of the favorites compared to his teammates and plenty of players just want to take him home. His birthday is August 1st.

Snake

Animal Crossing Snake

Another bunny villager, Snake is a ninja bunny with a thousand-yard stare that somehow worms its way into the hearts of many a player. Like Genji, Snake has a very Japanese style from his clothes to his house. Despite being a ninja, he is adorned with very bright pink fur on his body as well as yellow cheeks. Like many other characters on this list, Snake has been in Animal Crossing since the original game.

Snake's birthday is November 3rd.

Stirling

Animal Crossing Stirling

Unlike many other villagers, Stirling the eagle comes to players' islands with a set of headgear already, being his helmet. He is named after Stirling Silver, fitting with his knight theme. Stirling's unique knight look compared to other villagers makes him very appealing to players wanting to go for a specific theme for their islands. He is similar to another villager, Knox, due to both of them being birds that wear armor.

Stirling first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk and has returned in all mainline titles since. Going into Stirling's home in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will reveal that his home is a jail for some reason, surprising many players. His birthday is December 11th.

Hamlet

Animal Crossing Hamlet

Hamlet is a hamster villager named after the Shakespeare character due to his name starting with "Ham." He has made a cameo appearance on the cover of K.K. Slider's album, I Love You, shown having fallen asleep after drawing K.K. Slider, Cheri, Felicity, and Bree. Due to being a hamster, he is both short and chunky, making him look extra huggable to many Animal Crossing players.

Helping his cute look is the interior of his house, which is decorated with stereotypical kids' room items including wooden block furniture and a race car bed. Hamlet's birthday is May 30th.

Bill

Animal Crossing Billl

Bill is not only one of the very original Animal Crossing characters, but he is also on the cover of the original GameCube title. Like many others, he's appeared in every other Animal Crossing title, making him bonded to millions of players already.

Even without considering Bill's credentials, he's an adorable little duck and that's hard not to love. His birthday is February 1st.

Drift

Animal Crossing Drift

Finally, there's Drift, the frog colored like the extremely poisonous poison dart frog. Fittingly, he got his start as an islander in the original Animal Crossing. Unlike other brightly colored frog villagers, Drift looks at players with an adorable wide smile and bright eyes. He's stayed with the series for every game after his debut and with this alongside his cute looks, many players enjoy having him as their neighbor.

Drift's birthday is October 9th.
