The first step to gaining access to Redd's boat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to prompt the shady fox to pay a visit to one's island. Then fans must simply wait one day, as ACNH's Redd will be found wandering around their islands the day after the talk with Blathers.
While players should speak with Redd on this visit, as it will put them one step closer to opening Animal Crossing: New Horizons' museum art gallery, this is not when they will unlock his Treasure Trawler. Instead, fans must wait for a subsequent visit from Redd, at which point they can speak with him again and get an invitation onto his boat.
