A fan of God of War decided to bring Kratos, the main protagonist of the series, to their own island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the fifth main entry in the social simulation series developed and published by Nintendo. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are tasked with developing a vacation island by the infamous Tom Nook.

The charming simulation-game released nearly three years ago in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic. The absence of social gatherings worldwide, alongside the various stay-at-home orders across multiple countries allowed the game to act as somewhat of a substitution of those social interactions for players. The game grants the player a great amount of personal freedom in their play-style approach. There is a massive catalog of collectibles in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and plenty of options for players to customize their home and character.

One player has taken advantage of the customization in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and designed their in-game character to resemble Kratos from God of War Ragnarok. In a post uploaded online to Reddit, seejayyye shared an image with the caption, "When you don't have a PS5." The player has Kratos' iconic pale skin and red tattoos and an axe that acts as a substitute for the signature Leviathan Axe from the Norse saga of the God of War games.

Several users complimented the unofficial crossover in the comments of the original post. One user commented that they particularly loved this post because they had only been playing Animal Crossing and God of War recently. Another user asked where Atreus and Mimir were in the image, to which the original poster replied that they wish they knew how to make them as well. Several users commented on the caption mentioning the user's lack of a PS5, but the user clarified in the comments that they only captioned it that for the meme. The meme being a reference to the limited availability of the PS5 until recently due to supply shortages.

Both God of War: Ragnarok and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are amazing games in completely different genres. It is always amazing to see fans create these unique crossovers, and it is a testament to the success of the customization options in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that those tools are still being used years later by fans to create unique experiences.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for Nintendo Switch.
