One Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan spotted a small interesting tidbit about Redd. Animal Crossing: New Horizon's mysterious artwork dealer, Redd, is a character most people have questions about. The red fox is a familiar franchise character that has graced the series before and even so, most players do not know much about him, except for his penchant for selling players fake artwork. The character didn't make its way to New Horizons until a June 2020 update which saw fans rejoice in his return.

Redd isn't only known for his artwork, which includes fakes, but also for holding raffles during Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Fireworks shows. He does hold a lot of interesting items that are fairly unique, and some are even at a price that most would consider affordable. Still, even with the character's long history, most players still aren't too familiar with the character itself. Some fans still discover little tidbits which are mostly implied, but still add to the red fox's lore.

One eagle-eyed Animal Crossing: New Horizons' player spotted one minor detail about Redd during a recent playthrough. Reddit user ambcapo posted a couple of photos showing Redd during a storm, holding what seems to be a broken umbrella. Many players from the comments section chimed in about what kind of life Redd might be living. One user implied that the character was a cheapskate who kept buying fake artwork rather than fixing his own umbrella. Others found the small detail cute and on brand. Whatever the developers intended, it seemed to subtly show minor characteristics of the red fox.

While Redd might not make some gamers' best villager list in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the cute fox does have a fan base of his own. His random appearances throughout the game and the vast selection of artwork he sells are a highlight of many players' days when simply enjoying the game. Collectors and completionists can also enjoy the additional layer he adds to the game by creating a "real or fake?" mechanic when discussing the art pieces being sold.

And while New Horizons and its characters continue to grace people's Nintendo Switches, there is no word yet on when the next entry in the Animal Crossing franchise and which of the fans' favorite characters may be returning. Fortunately, there continue to be a lot of micro-details that fans still find whenever they boot up the game, and that should help hold their interest until the next installment arrives.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
