After trending in a viral video posted last year, Audrey, an avid 88-year-old Animal Crossing fan, has become one of the biggest advocates for Nintendo's incredibly popular franchise. After clocking an astounding 4,000 hours into New Leaf, Nintendo even supposedly went as far as to implement a character for the passionate Animal Crossing superfan, with one of the game's new villagers being called Audie in a nod to Audrey's in-game name.

While New Leaf clearly meant a lot to Audrey, it seems she's ready to move on to the next step of her Animal Crossing adventure, with her indie developer grandson Paul Hubans making a video confirming that she's moved on to the recently released New Horizons. In the video, Audrey discusses her love of the game, the insane reaction to the original video showing her hours spent on the title, and receives a Switch and a copy of New Horizons to kickstart her new island adventure.

The video begins with Hubans asking his grandmother how she feels about becoming a viral sensation due to her love for the game. He then reveals that he bought her an exclusive Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch, with Audrey initially worrying that she won't be able to play the majorly upgraded next entry in the popular franchise. Before long, however, Paul sets her up on the game, with the video showing her make her custom character, arrive on her island, and begin to meet her fellow residents.

Audrey does make it very clear though that she won't be giving up on her long-running Animal Crossing: New Leaf save, with the passionate fan claiming that she still needs to attend to her flowers and see her town full of villagers. Speaking on the addition of the new villager seemingly named after her, Audrey also seems to be pretty chuffed about being immortalized in the game, jokingly telling Paul: "I tried to tell your mother but I couldn't get her to stay on the phone long enough." As many will no doubt agree, this is an incredibly wholesome update from one of the most passionate members of the Animal Crossing community, and hopefully, she'll share more of her thoughts about the game very soon.

Outside of Audrey's experiences with New Horizons, it seems social media is currently ablaze talking about the new game in the popular franchise. Many have claimed that its the best Animal Crossing game to date, with the title's new creative freedom, adorable visuals, and seemingly limitless content making it one of the best releases the Switch has seen yet.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for Nintendo Switch.
