Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Bunny Day event is coming to an end on April 12, but that's not all that's going on in-game this weekend. April 11 marks the first official Fishing Tourney in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well.

To begin, players will need to speak to CJ in the plaza , he'll be there until 6 PM local time, and he'll explain the rules. They are rather basic, however, and that's to catch as many fish as possible within a 3 minute time limit. Fishing bait may help, but keep the time limit in mind. All fish that are caught are automatically transferred to the cooler next to CJ, and catching fish earns points. It takes 10 points to unlock any of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fishing Tourney rewards.

The question quickly becomes when these events will take place, especially with the demand the Fishing Tourney has in terms of trophies. They require hundreds of points to unlock, and it's worth mentioning that unlocking all rewards will also cost about 140 points. With that in mind, Animal Crossing: New Horizons announced that these will take place the second Saturday of specific months, namely April, July, October, and January. That means after today's Fishing Tourney, April 11, the next few will take on July 11, October 10, and January 9, 2021.

Many may not recognize CJ as he is a new character to Animal Crossing, but like Flick and his father, it seems he is following in the footstep of his, Chip, as host of the tourney. CJ also likely stands for Chip Jr., and he has his father's "Nyuk nyuk!" Either way, finding him in the plaza shouldn't be too hard, and he'll get players started on the above event.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players may be able to time travel to do this event without really panicking about getting it all done within a single time restraint, but experiencing these events when they are meant to happen may be the best way. Really, when it comes to the ethics of time travel, it's all player preference. Now, get out there and catch some fish.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
