At the latest Nintendo Direct event, Nintendo confirmed that its hit game Animal Crossing: New Horizons would be getting a big update in November. Nintendo didn't have much to share in the way of details at the time, teasing that the fan favorite NPC Brewster and his Roost cafe would be making their debut in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the update, but not revealing much else. Nintendo promised that more information would come in a special Animal Crossing: New Horizons-focused Nintendo Direct in October, and now we know when exactly that Nintendo Direct will air.
Nintendo has confirmed that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct will air on Friday, October 15 at 7am PT. The Direct will have about 20 minutes of information to share about the Animal Crossing: New Horizons November update, which certainly suggests that fans have more than just Brewster and his cafe to look forward to once it drops. However, Nintendo didn't provide any further clues about what fans can expect from the update.
Since its launch last year, Nintendo has released content updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on a regular basis. These content updates have greatly expanded what players can do in the game. For example, Animal Crossing: New Horizons added swimming and diving in one content update, and in another, it gave players the ability to fully explore "dream" versions of other players' islands.
Some of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons content updates have been smaller than others, simply adding new seasonal furniture as opposed to brand new gameplay mechanics. The exact scope of the big Animal Crossing: New Horizons November update remains to be seen, but since it's getting its very own 20 minute Nintendo Direct presentation, one has to imagine that it will be on the larger side of things.
All of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates have been free since launch, but one has to wonder if Nintendo will ever release paid Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC. Paid DLC would presumably be able to be a bit more extravagant and could potentially tack on a lot more value to the base game, as opposed to the free content updates where Nintendo may not have quite the same motivation to really go all out. However, no plans for paid Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC have been announced at the time of this writing.
Fans will learn all about the big Animal Crossing: New Horizons November update come October 15 at 7am PT when the Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct airs. Until then, they can speculate about what it will entail beyond the long-awaited debut of Brewster and his cafe.
