Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives gamers more customization and DIY options than the franchise ever has before. This freedom of choice has led some players to create some incredibly wild creations using furniture, clothing, and general decor. Now, one Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has shard a screenshot of a strange creation that focuses on an odd theme: Brewster's funeral.

Brewster is a recurring character in the Animal Crossing series, where he is a special pigeon villager who runs a cafe called The Roost. He's known for his blue feathers, thick eyebrows, curly mustache, small glasses, and surprisingly deep voice. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can unlock Brewster by donating a total of 60 items to the museum, receiving a photo of Brewster from Blathers, and then finding Brewster on a Mystery Tour island. Once contact is established, the player can begin luring Brewster to their island.

One Redditor recently shared a screenshot of a strange creation focusing on what they describe as a very sad day on the island - namely, Brewster's funeral. In the image, a large furniture item shaped roughly like a closed coffin is shown in what appears to be a chapel. It features a photo of Brewster on top and is surrounded by yellow flower displays and lit candles. Tall decorative windows stand in the background and a pair of pews are visible in the foreground.

This digital funeral may seem like an odd decision, as while Animal Crossing villagers can engage in a lot of activities, they are currently unable to die. The closest they can come is leaving the island, which can be a deeply affecting moment for some players. Furthermore, special villagers like Brewster are the least likely to leave the island, as they provide important services and manage Public Works like the museum or the safe.

As of writing, it appears that other Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans find this creation oddly engaging. Several users asked how Brewster had died and received no clear answer from the original poster, who just stated that he had. A few went on to theorize that Brewster perished from overdosing on his own coffee despite the fact that drinking incredible amounts of coffee has no negative effects in the game. A group of other users cheerfully discussed how they could defeat Brewster as though they were talking about a difficult boss in a soulslike title, complete with the "jolly cooperation" meme. This creation, while weird, may simply reaffirm how popular Brewster is among Animal Crossing fans.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
