Fauna is an adorable deer villager prominent in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community. The first time Fauna appears in the series is Animal Crossing: New Leaf, where she made a big impression on fans. She's classically sweet and cute, just what one would expect from a deer villager in Animal Crossing.

But otherwise, Fauna doesn't have many unique characteristics that make her stand out against the bunch. Her name in the Japanese versions of Animal Crossing is Doremi, which is both a reference to the musical scales solfege and a play on the word "doe" meaning female deer. The interior of her home in New Horizons is similarly simple. She furnishes her interior with Wooden-Block furniture as well as a Cuckoo Clock and a Tree's Bounty. In the spinoff Happy Home Designer, her house is a bit more interesting as she attempts to turn it into a concert hall with an Ebony Piano and Pink Velvet Stool.

Still, like most deer villagers, Fauna ranks high on tier lists, often making it to S-tier alongside Diana and Beau. As her description in the mobile spinoff Pocket Camp says, nobody dislikes Fauna as she's sweet and gets along with everyone. The community has virtually no complaints about the deer villager but sometimes laughs at her excessive competitiveness. Despite her popularity, her price in bells on trading websites isn't as high as some others.

Likewise, Fauna is classified as a normal Animal Crossing villager, so she'll sometimes conflict with cranky and sisterly villagers but gets along with everyone else well, making her an ideal villager for any island. Like most normal villagers, Fauna wakes up at 6 AM and is easier to befriend than most others, but if players wish to give her a gift, she favors beige and white colors and simple and cute clothing.

Born on March 26, Fauna shares a birthday with Louie, a gorilla villager who is a reference to Donkey Kong. Fauna's hobby is nature, meaning that she can often be found reading a book pertaining to something she's studying, such as bugs, fish, flowers, or fossils.

Fauna's home in Animal Crossing: New Leaf features somewhat of a retro theme. She has a retro stereo that plays K.K. Slider's "K.K. Stroll," which, like Fauna herself, often makes it to S-tier on fan lists. Also in her home, players will find a few pieces from the Alpine set as well as an Aloe Plant and a Pastel-Dot Rug, some of which rolled over into Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for Nintendo Switch.
