An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan has created some charming amiibos based on the villagers they have living on their island, plus their own player character. While some Animal Crossing amiibo figurines are available for sale, most of the wide array of characters are limited to amiibo cards, so this can give an idea of what it would be like if collectible amiibo figures were available for more villagers.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons had its big moment in 2020 when it released amid the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. While being stuck home alone led to a lot of gamers trying the series for the first time, Animal Crossing has been a big series for Nintendo since its inception. The cozy daily life sim gives players something new to do every day, villagers to check in on, and provides a pleasant escape for fans.

Fan Amiibo Working as Real Amiibo

According to Exact_Vacation7299, each amiibo is 3D printed and painted by hand, sealed, and placed on a base with an NFC chip inside. This chip lets the fan-made amiibo be used like official ones, with a simple tap on the face of a Switch triggering the in-game effects one would expect.

Fellow Animal Crossing fans are impressed with the work, finding them charming. Exact_Vacation7299 noted that the collection isn't for sale, and that they just wanted to show off what they had been working so hard on. Overall, they took three months to produce the collection. A final image shows the set of fan-made amiibo on display alongside two sets of official Animal Crossing amiibo, from both the Animal Crossing games and Super Smash Bros., which the Villager and Isabelle starred in as playable fighters.

While some players moved on from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it's clear that the game still has a place in many fans' hearts. Players are likely awaiting news of what the next Animal Crossing game will be and how it will differ from prior Animal Crossing titles.
