While most of the characters in Animal Crossing are fittingly anthropomorphized animals, some of them are also humanoid, and a fan has created an image focusing on all of them. There are many villagers that have been in multiple entries between the original GameCube Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and there are non-animal characters that have stood the test of time as well.

Among the Animal Crossing characters that have been featured across the series from the first game and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are Tom Nook, Kapp'n, and the player character which have each subtly changed from one generation to another. These primary characters aren't the only ones to be featured in multiple Animal Crossing titles, as villagers like Bob, Goldie, and Ribbot have remained fan favorites as the franchise evolved with each new entry. Unlike the animals that the player normally interacts with in Animal Crossing, one fan has highlighted the very few non-animal characters that have made the cut in the mostly creature-filled simulator.

Reddit user FizzyCocoaMan has garnered 2,000 upvotes on an Animal Crossing image that focuses on every character in the original game that isn't an animal, including the horned protagonist. Beyond the main hero, the image shows Wisp the Ghost, Snowboy the snowman, and Farley and Jack, who both have unknown origins, but the former is considered to be a gnome. Lloyd the Gyroid is also included in the screenshot which sets him aside from the traditional gyroids which can still be found by digging them up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons which offers a large library of the dancing figures.

Animal Crossing fans can normally interact with Wisp between midnight and 4:00 A.M. in-game time which may help them clear their village of weeds, while Lloyd remains stationary at the player's residence. Jack only comes to Animal Crossing villages for Halloween, making him only available for one day a year in which the player may acquire a seasonal item from him in exchange for candy. During the winter in Animal Crossing, players can build Snowboy to acquire snow-themed furniture, but Farley is the hardest to reach as he remains hidden at the town's fountain until the game has reached perfect town status.

Although many more animals have been introduced to the Animal Crossing series since the original release like the fan favorite Isabelle and Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Dodo Airlines team, FizzyCocoaMan's post is relevant today ignoring Farley. Villagers are presumably humans based on Animal Crossing letters from Mom and changes that have been made to their design since launch, but their initial aesthetic also suggests they're some sort of unnamed creature.
